It ain't Hori. No reviews. Risky proposition.

10/10 would not recommend. I ended up sending it back as it wouldn't work with my switch or my PC.

      • +4

They recommend staying away from that one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SidowGgHp5M

        • +1 for tokaku

I have that one although I think I got it a bit cheaper from Aliexpress. Works fine but you have to change a really specific setting on the Switch for it to work otherwise its a brick. I only found out from the Aliexpress reviews.

Thanks OP - I picked up a drum controller from Play Asia about a month ago when they had 20% off everything (still stupid expensive shipping, only the same price as what you can get on eBay here for a new one - but at at least it was guaranteed to be genuine) and have been holding it for Christmas for the kids.

This will go nicely with the Drum n Fun I bought back in November 2011 - finally someone will get to play it…

    • Yeah I've been eyeing playasia. They had free shipping earlier this year but the drum controller was excluded as it's too bulky. How much was it in total including shipping if you don't mind me asking?

      • They offer free shipping if you order over a certain amount.

      • $62.39. I am slightly worried posting that in case I get banned for not being ozbargainy…

        Controller was $87.55.

I have been watching Playasia for a full year since I bought the game - I don't think they are ever going to do free shipping for the controller again.

  • This looks like a RPG game instead of the casual drum rhythm one right?

What? An RPG Taiko No Tatsujin!! Use your drumming skills to save the world!

Looks like you'll be on an adventure in this one

  • Does anyone have any experience calibrating the drum to the tv?? Im too dumb to figure out how the settings work

I was getting too much audio lag when connected via HDMI, so I fed the audio from the 3.5 mm headphone jack into an analogue input on the receiver (and turned off all digital audio processing on the receiver—my receiver has a pure/direct audio setting intended for vinyl.

  • The description on the store page says you can also play "Taiko Game Mode", but it says only 1 player. Does anyone have this and can confirm it's only single player or can 2 players play the "Game Mode"?

  • Good game to play ‘without’ the drum set?

    • Yeah it's ok just using the controllers, requires a bit of skill (timing), and at this price a no-brainer I would have thought..

  • The physical cart is on special at JB, not a bad price really:-

    • That is a different game.

    • $47 on Amazon if you were thinking of buying one:

For those who like this game but want to play free on a browser (even supports multiplayer over the internet), here is something very similar:

does anyone know which title has the coffin dance song?

  • A few Switch games on special by the looks, is there a full list?

Check out the deku deals website, it shows all games, sales, etc and you can add games to your watchlist and get email reminders when they go on sale (that's how i found out this game was on sale!)

If you buy the Hori drums on amazon beware of the highly discounted ones launched by a brand new seller and shipped by them with a suspiciously long shipping delivery. They're scammers capitalizing off popular amazon marketplace items with high user reviews.

  • Any brick and mortar sell the drum controller for this game so I can get it by xmas?

    • EB used to have a bundle. These days you'd only find the drum itself in dedicated independent game stores and at a really marked up in price. Would be worth making a few phone calls depending on where you live.

  • Everyone here seems to be talking about the Raiko controller, but I thought this game didn’t support it? Was the game patched after launch?
