I used to love going to watch Victory games but recent events soured it.

  • +3

Do thet provide flares at the gate?

    • Only if you pay full price!

    • -7

You can spend 90 minutes watching a game and nothing happening. Equivalent of blue balls in sport. No wonder they get frustrated and need to release some "tension"

      • -2

Blue balls angrily negging my comment. Proves my point :-D

Was so close to take my young kids to the derby last week. Lucky didn't go.

  • +2

So 1 ticket for the grandstand, 1 for the field?

  • +4

Will the topless Argentinian fan be there?

  • All I need know is a bargain on flairs and a metal dust bin and my evening will be epic

  • +6

    "Melbourne Victory Boxing Day clash"
    Sounds about right

  • +7

Gates open at 6pm, lights punched out by 7!

  • +3

After last week, they should be giving them away for free and would still struggle to get a crowd.

  • +3

I was at that game last week with the kids. They’d have to pay me to go again with the family.

Sounds completely reasonable. It’s really sad. I’ve been a “lite” soccer fan my life, played as a kid back in the 80s. I want to be more of a fan in the A-League as it’s getting really good, professional. But these things are disastrous for the game and brand. There’s no way I’d go with my kids if there was any significant risk of hooliganism there. And there clearly is. And it’s been a bit like this for years.

Sad thing is, I go on about how AFL is a violent game blah blah and soccer is non contact (mostly). But AFL never has this crap with the fans.

Maybe I’ll write both off and follow something else.

      • +2

You could attend a Western United or City vs 'anyone other than Victory' game in Melbourne without any "significant risk of hooliganism". The 100s of empty seats around you could offer further protection.

        • +1

          I think you're missing a 0

  • +2

I've never heard of Western United & Melbourne Victory in the UFC

  • Deal is over for this game. Where’d do you reckon I can get four free ticket?
