6 Months Free Amazon Prime @ Optus SubHub (for Existing Optus Postpaid Customers)

3560

Free 6 months of Amazon Prime Membership for new or inactive members. Need to have ongoing optus postpaid service I believe. I could be wrong.

Offer available to new and inactive Amazon Prime members only. Customers who have previously redeemed an Amazon Prime offer via SubHub are not eligible. Offer valid until withdrawn.

  • Anyone here took up the Optus A8 tab deal and worked out how to have two separate sub hub accounts, if set up under the one main account with Optus?

Finished my 12 months and cancelled when they start charging me.

Now Subhub is not showing any free period.

    • T&C actually says "Offer available to new and inactive Amazon Prime members only. Customers who have previously redeemed an Amazon Prime offer via SubHub are not eligible." So either have to wait out for a bit before you become "inactive" and they may offer free period again.

  • Thanks, cancelled my sub, waited until the day after it ended and applied the 6 months free. 🙃

  • My yearly prime just ran out - perfect timing. Thanks OP!

  • It seems to work for existing customers too. I have an existing active Prime membership paid monthly, just claimed the 6 month offer on Subhub and my Amazon account now updated its renewal date to July.

  • Just worked for me, not sure why it's marked as expired.

    • Same here, just worked for my inactive Prime account.

Hi guys, I'm existing Optus and Prime members - I read the offer applies to existing Prime member, thus no need to cancel your membership - it will just extend it.

I just did mine just now, login with Optus account (I use NBN with them but somewhat I did have old phone number - perhaps it's the old phone subscription - but I believe as long as you are Optus member you can do this) - then select Prime, then Setup then it will open new window to login to prime - this one you decide which Prime account you want to use with SubHub - one that get the 6 months).

When I check my subscription. It was 17 March 2023 - I swear it changed to 19 August first - 5 months? wtf - then I refresh again then it shows 13 Sept 2023 - 180 days.

    • Thanks mate. I just did the same to you.

    • SubHub for some reason register my Prime subs to 19 August (thus why the glitch above?). But the one in Amazon shows correct 13 Sept - perhaps it will be fixed in few days or just ignore it.

      • I got 6 months, which is March to September. Hope it will be fixed since it is automatically system.

    • Edit… Originally just said 19 August despite having a June renewal. Over 10 minutes later now says 27 January 2024.
I need to cancel my Optus plan soon as 12 months from the Tab A8 offer is nearly up so I wonder if I'll be able to cancel the "billing through Optus" part now showing in my membership.

  • Thanks, worked for existing active membership, just took a few minutes to update new expiry correctly.

    • Mine did not update, still says Aug 23 :-(

This latest offer is not available if you’ve had it before. I took the original 12 month offer and have an expired account but it’s not available now. The offer doesn’t show when logged in and if you click the offer link and login when requested it sets up Prime and starts charging the monthly fee immediately.

  • Terms from Optus:

"…Existing members with an active account can take up the 6 months on us offer detailed below (provided you meet the criteria) and your existing membership payments will be managed through your Optus account and covered by Optus for 6 months, after which you will revert to ordinary billing through Amazon…"

My membership just renewed last week. I read the above that I'll get the free 6 months then it 'reverts' back to the remainder of my currently paid membership. Do others read it this way? Just not sure if I'm missing something given others have posted that it won't work for active memberships.

  • how to qualify as inactive ??

  • Thanks OP, just got it.

Got email from Amazon that the membership fees will increase to $79 from 28/6/23. Anyone know if we can postpaid them in Optus during this 6 months period ?
