    Thanks Guys ☺️

  • Have they improved or still terrible when comes to firmware/android updates?

Made a mistake of buying Oppo many years ago, never got a single android update.

I bought this phone during previous November sale for around $825 with eBay 20% off which included pad air but bcz they were out of stock gave me $500 voucher… This phone is nice but has two issues Android auto and Bluetooth… bcz of this Sold the phone on eBay. Android auto was serious.

      • Same

      • What are the issues with android auto and blutooth?

        • +1

Bluetooth connection not stable…as soon you move just few metres away from phone it's starts disconnecting. Now in regards to Android auto it won't connect with Car…you have to fiddle cable around then it connects plus each time you connect it ask what is the connection for choose one like file transfer, android auto etc. Before you say use Oppo cable that came in box then the answer is It won't fit inside my Car. Rest any type A cable fits perfectly but Oppo didn't.

      • I received a credit instead of the tablet as they sold out. Adding to this… a lesser known fact is that this phone also is incompatible with "Square" wireless eftpos machines so if you don't carry your wallet you will run into issues with smaller vendors on wireless payment. Source = I've had this issue consistently and also here https://www.sellercommunity.com/t5/General-Discussion/How-to…

Its fine 90% of the time with main eftpos vendors supermarkets just not the mum and dad type stalls who use the cheap eftpos setups that require "pin on glass" security which oppo does not support.

This phone has been fine for me otherwise. The only other thing I would say is that the pixel 7 pro pictures shit all over this camera as my mr's has one and its ridiculous how washed out my camera looks by comparison.

Got the Oppo Find X3 Pro. Camera is great. Microscope is cool. Get regular updates (every 3-5 months) but the software is unbearably hopeless. Makes me want to smash it on a daily basis. Eg. Open camera from lock screen, turn phone to landscape and it locks again. Also, an update or so a while back has resulted in all chat conversations not going to the latest message when you open the app. Ie, get new message, open message app and it is showing the conversation 5 hours back up the conversation. There are countless other bugs like this also.

Also worth mentioning, the first one I got was faulty. The camera would only work on 1x and crash when trying to select the microscope or zoom. Got it replaced by JB after much explaining.

Do not recommend Oppo. Hardware is decent when not faulty and on paper they appear to be good but software let's them down terribly, even with regular updates.

      • Yes I had same experience with X2 pro

Did you also have issues with camera randomly not saving pics/vids

        • Haven't had that one, yet. The video can be jerky at the start.
How's your auto-rotate? Yilk my phone a couple of degres and it turns to the landscape mode.

          • @BargainGain: Yeah my video is a bit choppy to start for a few seconds when taking the 1st video, but seems to be ok on the next video after "warming up"

My auto rotate is working fine, haven't noticed it being too sensitive.

I also have this camera issue sometimes, as HDR is on auto by default(resets when you exit :( ) and can sometimes makes the image looked washed out

My experience with the Find X2 pro has not been the very best. Nothing particularly wrong with the phone but it does not feel like the high end device it's meant to be. Not sure if this one is much more superior but I don't think I'd get another Oppo next time around.
I had a Huawei mate 20 pro and I loved it. So I was hoping this manufacturer would deliver at least up to those levels. Also had a LG V30+ and even it's was half the price at the time the Oppo did not feel like a big step up.
Anyway, just sharing my experience… would be interesting to know if anyone else feels similarly or all the opposite.

I also used a Huawei (Mate 10 pro) before switching to Oppo. The Mate was great until its battery swelled up after 2.5+ years, so I switched to the Oppo Find X2 Pro shortly after it was released. Initially, I wasn't happy bc the battery didn't last as long as the Mate's nearly 2 day charge… but after almost 3 years, my X2 is still running smoothly and most importantly for me, takes great photos. The ample storage is also helpful - I never thought I'd need 512gb, but years if photos and videos add up. If I were in the market for a replacement, I'd certainly consider Oppo again. One downside is access to replacement phone cases - there's just not that many easy options outside of a few on eBay and Amazon, and having a case is essential since it prevents my hands from triggering unwanted touches to the curved screen.

    • Actually I've got a different experience to yours. I moved from pixel 3xl to the Oppo find X2 Pro. The main issue I had with the pixel was the memory management and the low storage.

I'm extremely happy with the X2 Pro - it beats the pixel in everything except the camera. I'm bad at taking pics and the pixel made me seem like a pro. I love the fact that I can watch Netflix and open up Chrome and browse in a mini window.
Android auto wired works perfectly, have to unlock and choose everytime that it's a AA/data cable though
Android auto wireless is glitchy but I suspect it's my Ali screen that's the problem and not my phone. But nothing to complain or change phone's about.

Yes they're slow on updates, but I'm not too fussed about that. Very happy with my X2 Pro

  • Wish they would release the find n2 in Australia.

    Only foldable I'm interested in.

  • Apparently according to that huge poll on YouTube this has the best standard daylight camera

  • 8gen1 low PWM, pass. When will Reno9 and N2 be realeased in Oz?

  • Bought from JB on last BF. Jumped from Zflip3 with Galaxy watch4 and Tab S7 Plus. I was a fan of Samsung Galaxy.
I have no issue with this phone. It's fast and battery is monster. Also I'm using Android auto with Motorola wireless module. I am much happy no regrets at all.
    Great camera day and night.
    Long battery time.
Face and finger print unlock is faster than Galaxy.
    Super fast charge and performance.
Just except only one thing, dialer and message apps from google have bad design.

    • do you still use the watch4 with the x5?

      • Yep works good yet.

  • Just bought the last one at OW Garden City for $997… Waiting for GST refund

  • Hi guys, I am looking to purchase a flagship android phone for the first time in more than 15 years (been away)
I like the Oppo X5 find pro and am really interested in purchasing it while this deal is on and I can get it for as low as $997 (OW)

Should I wait for the X6 Find Pro or the S23+ or get this phone now.
Important factors for me will be battery life, charging speeds, connectivity of wireless ear buds and smart watch. Also important factors for me will be updates, bugs and customer service if I encounter any issues or problems.

I plan to use my phone for the next 3 years.
Any advice anyone might have for me will be greatly appreciated. I have used comparison sites such as GSM Arena and had a look at the specs but I need some guidance from people who actually use these phones.

    Cheers!
