Great find OP, I've stuck to the Penrite race lube after not liking the Motul stuff many moons ago. In my experience it sticks to the chain in all conditions, very good price!

    Good find op…

  • I used to use the race lube on my dirt bike (as recommended by Penrite), but it attracts dirt and sand. Now I just use a marine gear oil, also from super cheap. It doesn't stick as well to the chain, but nor does it result in a filthy chain after every ride. It's easier re-lubing than cleaning.

    • @BigBirdy have you tried the road chain lube?

Apparently it "dries to create a non-flinging, highly tenacious, clear protective film" which may be better for off road applications.

      • I haven't tried that one, but I'm quite happy using gear oil, and it's much cheaper

      • If its the silicone type you are meaning, then I can definitely recommend it. Has not gunked for atleast a few months (I know).

Just follow the instructions and a bit, i.e. spray it and leave it for atleast 4 hours to dry out. It sprays wet and flings off if not dry. I usually spray it in the evening, and leave it overnight.

  • Cheaper at AMX plus free delivery

  • Used to be $42.99 full price everyday, and I could buy one around $30 mark when they were on special about a year ago or so, everything goes dearer, still a very good find, but like funky mentioned above, AMXSUPERSTORES is slightly cheaper

  • Seems like a pretty average deal to me. I can buy a chain brush on ebay for $5. 1l kerosene for $6 (clean chain) … leaves around $24 for chain lube.

I can't comment on how good/bad the penrite stuff is. Plenty of decent chain lubes for $10-15.
