  • What's the difference between the 2740B and 2740BR?

    • Just bought one last night. Im pretty sure 2740B is what it was when it first came out. Then 2740BR, the R stands for Range booster. When it first came out there were countless complaints of wireless not working well and dropping out. So with the R they stuck on 2 antennas, but i also think they originally came out with 3 antennas then took off the antennas and the complaints started coming in.
Seems to work really well now

      • Fair enough, because I've the the 2740B for the past 3 years now and sometimes (rarely) the AP drops out, but mainly on a hot day and surely almost any router would. Besides that I've had no dramas with it.

  • Not seeing any $30 cashback for the DIR-825 on the redemption link provided.

      Hi Mate,

Description has been updated. Only 2740BR available for claim at the moment. the rest of the product will be available for claim on 16th of July

  • The Dlink promotion page says $20 cash back.

  • Probably not the best time to get a 801.11n router. 801.11ac is just around the corner.

Thanks for the post otherwise I wouldn't have known about cashback, but I got d-link dsl 2740BR from Officeworks last night with 5% price beat from MSY who have it at $83.
Ended up being $78.85 now i can get another $20 to be $58.85 awesome.

Searched StaticICE and this shop was selling the DIR-825 for $85 this morning. Now it is $95 before cashback.

Since the cashback comes from the manufacturer and costs the retailer nothing, I leave it to you to decide whether to support this shop or not.

I found the same thing as well.

good price for a router (thx to cashback), but bad retail practice. although this was practiced for a long time by intel so its resellers can make some money while complaining to retail shoppers that it's a cutthroat zero margin market

well spotted alvian…. neg vote for poor form by vendor.

seems like same old tricks with OLC… so, how many's in stock… 1, 2, 3 max??? lets not have another NAS fiasco - remember, just becuase it says its in stock dont mean it is, and dont expect a prompt refund once youve paid either… (note: just speaking from prior experience)

        Hi mate,

we do have more than 50+ instock, pick up also available.

  • -2

Bear in mind, old price of $85 does not comes with free shipping Australia wide.

    • +3

So you increase the price by $10 and then say free shipping? What a disgusting joke. GTFOutta here.

    • +1

If you kept your mouth shut I was about to defend this deal before i saw this… This is just disgusting with you guys trying to con the consumer into thinking they are getting a bargain. This is nothing but spam. REPORT THIS DEAL AND BUY ELSEWHERE

    • does that mean that if we come in for pick-up, we can get it at $85?
