Warning, take note of foaming or non foaming, if you want (well, foaming or non foaming) they look almost identical and I got stung on this recently.

You can use non foaming in a foaming bottle, 70% water, then add 30% solution.

Thanks, didn't know this has a foaming version - was avoiding the deal because of it.

      • We really liked the foaming, thought I found a great deal on refills and oh damn it was just regular

        • We were using the Dettol foaming hand wash and really liked that too. But it's 9 dollars per 900ml refill. Hopefully this is similar.

Is antibacterial bad for the environment and people? Asking for a friend.

    • +8

Your friend is bad for the environment.
      You know what to do.

        wash them in antibacterial liquid?

      • buy them

    • +8

Wash your hands uses a lot of water - bad for the environment and people!
Actually living on this planet uses a lot of resources and create a lot of waste - bad for the environment and people!

In other words don't have any kids

        • Imagine your parents used the same logic

    • Most obvious problem is if you use the enzyme type draino. You introduce special bacteria to the esbend/pipes which eats oils, fats, skin, all the disgusting stuff. Anti Bacterial soap will kill the enzymes and drains will begin to smell again and they will slowly clog

    Cheap

These are foaming still quite cheap

But it is a lot cheaper to buy concentrated soap and diluting ourself to 70%-85% with water.
than to buy the foaming (diluted) liquid soap

      • Genuine question: when you mix it yourself, does the solution stay homogeneous for good or will the thicker stuff settle down at the bottom after a while? I think I had that issue last time I tried mixing but can’t recall what soap I used.

        • +2

i am yet to try diluting for the foaming hand soap dispenser. But seen it in many videos online. I normally always dilute the northforlk liquid hand soap its always a little too concentrated even for normal use (diluting that just requires a lot of shaking and mixing eventually once the bubbles kick in its quite uniform)

        • Stays homogenous without a worry

      • Doesn't that affect the pH level? I know some soaps rely on the pH level as part of their cleaning, is that not the case here?

        • -1

pH alone is not concerning factor for handwashing dude.
There's plenty of soap that are neutral, most are slightly basic I think.
Otherwise tap water is generally slightly acidic.

If you are so concerned it may probably decrease pH by 0-2 scale at max.

I just bought this from amazon for $18 a few days ago! Now these are on discount! I msged Amazon and they refunded me the difference! :) quite nice.

  • whatever you do don't get white tea

    • +3

      Does it taste bad?

      • Nah, it just doesn't get along with all the other teas.

  • Cashrewards?

  • I still have my cherry blossoms from a few months ago. I'll get these once they run out.

But good to know that 30% of this is all that is needed to make foam soap.

I have the xiaomi foamin soap dispenser from ebay. I hope this will work in it.

    • 30% is one person's opinion, I don't know if that's true.
If you go back through the comments for the multiple times these go on sale people's ideas about dilutions are wildly all over the place. But if the point is for it to behave identically to the already diluted product there can surely be only 1 answer. Sure you'll get foam across a wide dilution scale, but for identical it simply can't be that wide.

If would be best if you already have the foaming version and non foaming, and can do side by side tests using 2 of the same dispensers. I will try 30% non foaming to 70% water next time I refill and get back with a comparision

  • After foaming as well - If it’s mixed with water will it not affect antibacterial properties ?

  • Can you do subscribe and save and then cancel it later?

    • +2

      Yep!

  • This is now $10.50 so just 50c more.
