I'm heading to Bali from June to August next year and am aware that flights are a bit on the expensive side at the moment.

I'm wondering if anybody has experience in buying flights this time of the year or any insight into current fares and can advise. Would you buy now, on the basis that flights will only go up, or would you wait until early next year, hoping for some discounting?

Are there generally any post-Christmas flight sales?

    Unless you have a crystal ball, no one can answer. Set a google alert for price changes, and then buy when you are comfortable.

    If you live in Geelong, are you going to fly Jetstar to (and from) Avalon or Melbourne to Bali?

    Monitor Jetstar website if so.
