Looking for deals on sunglasses, apparel, electronics, cosmetics.

    The page lists major chains and shopping centres that will be open and when. As not all shopping centres will be open, I'm not sure what the chances of finding a 'not crazily packed' one will be.
    
    Sydney Morning Herald's website normally publishes an article on what's open and when late on Christmas Day or early Boxing Day.

      Your question was when Boxing Day was. It's always 26/12.
      
      If you're asking whether the 27th is a public holiday, the answer is yes, because Christmas was on the weekend this year. If New Year's, Christmas or Boxing Days fall on a Saturday or Sunday, an extra public holiday gets added.

  wtf, boxing day has never been on the 27th.
  
  boxing day is the 26th, and is the day after Christmas which is 25th.
  
  never ever ever on the 27th. for normal jobs you will receive the 27th off, but if you work in the mall, restaurants, movies, etc you work to cater to those who have the day off.

Can confirm, no decent sales this year. Boxing day sales are officially over. It seems black friday and click frenzy have officially taken over according to data collected from my saleometer.

  I work in retail (stationery) and can confirm. Our best sale was 40% off for bk friday, boxing day is 25% off.

  I felt this way too. You can even see on this site that there aren't really any very good deals. Basically same discounts that have been offered throughout the rest of the year.
