  • Got as low as $152 on Amazon through a third party but shipped by Amazon on August 23 2022 but very briefly.

    are air purifiers worth it

    • Don’t know about good ones, but a cheap no-brand one made things worse for me — maybe it just stirred up more dust than usual, or maybe the filter was disintegrating and adding particles to the air or something.

Did your purifier emit -ve ions/ozone/uv? -ve ion generators have been shown to cause respiratory irritation. ozone more so. Some units with UV lamps emit ozone as well but don't spec it.

        • It had that function but I had it turned off. Always possible the toggle didn’t actually work or something.

  • Damn. Purchased from JB two days ago for 194

  • is this better than arovec 152pro?

  • Does anyone have access to the results of the Choice 2022 Air Purifier tests?

I've heard the samsung big boi tops the tests, the philips 3000 came 2nd, but the philips 1000 was way down ~15th, and like a full 30% worse at filtering dust/smoke.

    • Which test? Interested.

Not sure how this compares to others but i have been using it for 3 years with barely any nights without it turned off.
I am way overdue to replace the filters but about once a week/fortnight i air-blast the pre-filter as it captures so much dust in my bedroom. So that alone is worth the $200 i spent.
Air-purifers are imo mandatory in your room especially if you have allergies

I have this model and I felt like I was sleeping worse with it than without it, so I packed it up into its box.

      It was also squeaky.

  • How often do you have to change the filter on these?
