Alternative Power Supply for Yeelight LED Strip Extensions

Hi everyone,

I got the Xiaomi Yeelight Aurora Lightstrip Plus 10m Bundle from [this deal] (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/741309) and it comes with a 2m strip + 8 x 1m strip extensions.

I'm not going to use all 10m for my intended setup, so was wondering how else could i power the remaining strips without buying the whole pack again. The best i could figure out is that they have 4 pins and require 24v power, but after googling, searching aliexpress and ebay i couldn't find any way to power them with 24V and having the same 4 pin connector or a wifi module to connect them to.

Any recommendation from more experienced led strip users?

  • I'm in the same boat but my power supply died so ended up just buying the whole thing again just for the power supply :(

  • Do you have picture of the phone me/pcb contacts. If it’s just marked R G B +, you could use anything really…a kit on Ali would prob still set you back like $30-40 though

    • That's what i was thinking, and like you said the price seems pretty much the one of a discounted basic 2m yeelight kit, so might even go with the original kit

  • In the same boat. I asked Yeelights customer support and they don't sell separate power adapters.

  • +1

It looks like a dumb strip. You just supply 24V PWM to each of the 3 colour wires.
So a 24V power supply, and a PWM amplifier. You'll need to do a bit of research I guess.

The cheapest controller is only a few dollars, and has an infrared remote. You can also get ones with bluetooth or wifi.

    This might work:
