Hello,

Just got a SMS followed by an email from Zoom broadband, they had some hardware issue and are refunding Jan to all services and disconnecting them?

This has aged very well. No sympathy for the users that did sign up when they were warned.

Looks like the rep's done a disableduser runner now too

They copped a 24hr ban, so looks like they just decided to do a runner

I joined and lost nothing? So no sympathy need thanks!

      • I'm giving you sympathy now, ha!

      • if waste of your time, and inconvenience of needing to re-sign up with someone else, aswell as the added risk that you know this shonky business now has your details counts as "losing nothing", then sure, you lost nothing.

I was a former EPIC customer, after that whole debarcle i made my banks change my details and lock out any of epics accounts from charging me.

After a debarcle like this zoom instance, i would definitely look into doing the same thing.

lost 5 minutes setting up my previous provider.
Do you think them having anyone's details really matters?
If someone whats your details they will get it

          • @rbrtsluk: Yes, I do think it matters if a shonky company has your details.

But if you don't care, all to ya

@whitepuma: What was the dollar value you lost from EPIC for you to make such a fuss, Im curious as you could prove useful as a product influencer.

              • @sheeptel: Can't remember exact amount, but was somewhere between 50&100.

I'm intrigued by your comment of "such a fuss" epic was a company that shut down with no warning, and was essentially taking sales up until the minute before they shut down. And it's the 2nd time Jake berry has done such a thing (after looking at what happened to infinity). Many people, myself included, didn't get refunds, and the only people that did had to get it reversed from the bank.

We get it, your on the side of epic/zoom/infinity, and it wouldn't surprise me if you are associated given the fact that the only comments you have made on all of ozbargain is on zoom posts

              • @sheeptel: Feel free to participate in other threads 🙂

          • @rbrtsluk: another loss…check your emails if you just got charged, some customers are saying they got an email this morning that they got charged for another month

  • +1

For any former Zoom customers, please check your email / bank accounts! I was charged for another full month overnight, $93. I've emailed, waiting for a reply. Will attempt to call them this morning. Will keep you posted.

    • Yep… Had an email this morning that I've just been billed.
Now to contact the bank once they open.

      • Yep, will be contacting bank also. Zooms number shown on invoice is not in service!

    • yeah wow…..waiting for @sheeptel to jump to their defence

  • Yep - same, just got $98 charge, clowns!

  • I also have been charged from zoom.
Has anyone manage to get a hold of zoom to get their refund? I have had no luck as yet

Yeah, I am here and it appears stripe reloaded the subscription and charged me too!
According to the email, mass cancellation in stripe causes it to come back to life!

    • mate, zoom hasn't done their due-dilligence.

Stripe would be in contact with zoom to let them know about the mass cancellation (atleast to check if zoom is sure they want to do that), and accordingly they would do the same if they are cancelling the cancellation.

Don't blame this on stripe, this is all on zoom
