Cheapest Way to Get AIA Vitality?

Hi all, after spending some time looking into AIA Vitality, it seems like getting insurance is the only way to go. However, given my employer is covering my Health Insurance, my Life Insurance and Income Protection through Super already, I don't see any benefit to get double insured.

Is there any other way to get me with AIA Vitality?

Thanks!!

  • If your insurance is otherwise sufficient, you might consider if trauma cover is worthwhile for your situation. Or check to see if AIA life insurance is comparable/cheaper than your super fund's insurance for the same amount of cover. I'm a big fan of Vitality.

    • Thanks for your reply.

I am also covered with trauma with my super (fee payable by my employer).

      • You might be thinking of Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) cover. Trauma covers critical illness like cancer & heart attacks and is not something that you can get through super.

        • Yes you are right, I don't have trauma covered with my super.

But I am in NSW, so RAC and RACQ are both out of the equation. I will probably give CommBank a call tmw to see what their eligibility would be for the reward program.

  • I dont understand..how are you getting health insurance through super?

    • how are you getting health insurance through super?

Perhaps poorly worded by the OP.

I think their employer is paying for their health insurance, whereas life insurance and income protection is coming from super.

      • That's correct, sorry for the confusion

My employer is paying my health insurance, and covers all the fees for my life insurance and income protection through super.

Long before if used to be free with rest, and used to be able to earn gift cards for exercising with it (for free).
    Now not sure

    • They stopped that back in late 2019 or early 2020, but it was good whilst it lasted.

I have health insurance with Medibank, maybe I should change to AIA… I do miss getting vouchers just for hitting my steps.

  • Join CBA, you get AIA vitality as a side benefit. I was able to buy fitbit for 75% off from CBA's store and received AIA vitality where I got $760 of benefits (either Woolworths vouchers or cashback) each year. Actually did the exercise but faked a lot of medical forms.

    • Thanks for that.
I was under the assumption you only get it if you have insurance under CBA, is that your case??

      • No, you get this benefit without paying for AIA's overpriced insurance. You can also get access to CBHS if you work at CBA which is pretty cheap. I use a barebones plan to avoid the medicare surcharge.

        • Thats great to hear.

I will give them a call tmw to find out more details. Thanks a bunch !!

        • What CBA policy do you have that gives you access to AIA Vitality? The CBA website says to access AIA Vitality you need a policy with minimum $750 yearly premium

@tomclancy: As I mentioned earlier, you get access to AIA Vitality by working for CBA (not getting their insurance).

@Vulgar: Ah is that what you meant by join CBA? I thought you meant join CBA as a customer XD

@moneytomyway: Sorry should've been more clear. Wasn't aware at the time that the more likely interpretation was joining as a customer.

What’s with AIA ? Am a member and don’t see much to do

50% off for Virgin Active is why I want an AIA account

  • Income protection through super won’t cover you to age 65 but can be found for policies outside super. Are you sure you’re properly insured? Can’t you find a small income protection policy outside super with AIA?

  • Any updates on this?
