Android phone advice

I'm about to go travelling overseas for a year.

I currently have an HTC desire HD, but would like to buy a smaller android phone to take with me.

I was thinking perhaps the HTC wildfire? Or motorola defy?

But really I have no idea. Can anyone recommend a good, small, cheap android phone?

Thanks

HTC Wildfire is a pretty old phone and it's also expensive compared to a lot of other options.

Try the LG Optimus Spirit, $49 from Coles using FlyBuys card. Unlock it via this guy for $2.

It has a 800mhz CPU and 512MB of RAM, which is better than any other sub $100 android phone you can buy in the market.

    • Will definitely check out the optimus, but some reviews say the battery life is a pretty bad.

Just take the phone u have.. in a year it will be worth next to nothing anyway, also it will cost u less

    • Really want to get something smaller, and maybe a bit more durable (might be a pointless exercise though), and the battery life on my HTC has gotten pretty bad lately.

  • Big thanks to scrimshaw and m0nkeycheese for helping me make a decision!

Just bought 2 LG Optimus Spirits (one for me, one for the girlfriend) from coles in warriwood square (still plenty of stock).

  • I've Got a HTC wildfire (not the S version) and its pretty good. Can do quite a bit off stuff for a low end smart phone. Not the sturdiest object but it is a smart phone though.
    Quad band as well ;D
