Waiting for Krisflyer to match it!

    • +1

Yeah Krisflyer is the way to go.

    • When do you think this will happen please?

      • +1

It's more likely to see another Velocity bonus offer than Krisflyer
Good news is now you can use Velocity points to redeem flights from Singapore Air
        https://loyaltylobby.com/2022/02/08/virgin-velocity-has-rein…

Otherwise you can also transfer Velocity points to Krisflyer, but I think double conversion might lose some points

        • Velocity to KF is 1.55:1

    • Same, I was excited to see bonus miles until I read "Asia Miles" not KF 😟

    • Unlikely. Krisflyer only did bonus points promos during covid, but they don't need to anymore as their flights are back to capacity (and many peeps have stocked up Krisflyer miles over the covid years).

If you google Krisflyer bonus points transfer promos, you'll see they were very rare prior to covid. This may be the last time Cathay does it for a while too.

I didn't expect to see Asia Miles in oz lol

  • These look to be the other partner credit cards.

I suppose AMEX and Citi are the big ones… not sure about the rest (maybe HSBC):

    AEON
    American Express®
    Bank of Communications
    BOC Credit Card
China Construction Bank (Asia) Corporation Limited
    Citibank
    CMB Wing Lung Bank
    DBS
    Fubon Bank (Hong Kong)
    HSBC
    Shanghai Commercial Bank
    Standard Chartered Bank
    The Bank of East Asia

  • Will ANZ work?

  • Read through the T&C and saw this

Eligible Miles Conversion do not include miles earned via the following conditions
and thus they are not eligible for the Promotion Offer:
    - Miles earned from the welcome offer or promotional offer of designated credit cards;

Does this mean i wouldn't be able to use the "300,000 Citi rewards points from the Citi Prestige deals"

    • Keen to know too I have 300,000 citi rewards

      • Anyone have an answer on this?

    • What if I have 320k (300k from welcome bonus and 20k from PayAll)? I don't think it's possible to know which is which.

  • How do these stack up with krisflyer? In terms of value for money and expiry of the points?

  • Why is everyone so keen on krisflyer? I have some KF miles and have not been able to find any flights, the only time I booked for one they never confirmed it until 2 weeks prior to the booking so I cancelled it.
    Is Asia Miles worse off?

I’m looking to convert my 300,000 citi rewards

    • Krisflyer has one of the best redemption program. You don't have to buy Singapore air flight with it, rather it gives you access tooyher star alliance flights too

      • Same is true of Asia Miles too. While I’m a big fan of KrisFlyer I think Asia Miles is a pretty strong option too.

  • Years ago, I had to redeem AM for shopping due to their poor redemption booking opportunities.

  • I think KF vs VA depends on what route you plan to fly. From memory it was (for business class) 139K for JFK to Sydney on VA and 165K KF saver - with the better VA conversion rate from Citi, it is much better to transfer them to VA points than SQ. Especially if you can wait for the next VA transfer bonus promotion.

YMMV depending on route - access to other partners might be a benefit for you on SQ over VA

    • VA is Virgin?

      • Yeah Virgin Australia/Velocity FF

    • +1

There's a few factors to keep in mind e.g. velocity doesn't have access to all of KF's saver fares. But velocity's abundant access to QR J awards to Europe is a real draw for me.

      • thanks!
