  • Almost forgot about the cashback for the toothbrush since the offer last time.

For anyone who doesnt own this already, go get it - definitely worth the money!

  • This item is in David Jones catalogue for $49.95, but it ends today.

    • Didn't realise DJ's still active, a couple of weeks ago I checked the Bourke St, and then Chadstone and both were sold out.

  • Just bought 1 from Melbourne cbd store… Thanks

  • Just bought 1 from Melbourne cbd store… Thanks

  • Just got one online.
The waterproof electric shaver is a decent bargain as well: http://www.shavershop.com.au/products/electric-shavers-2/pan…

$155 for a decent toothbrush and a decent shaver to be delivered seemed like a good deal.
(Plus $10 for delivery and minus $30 for VISA giftcard).

OralB cashback ia very slow though, still waiting for mine.

    • It is really slow. I always assumed that they wanted to wait out the satisfaction guarantee period when the customer could return the toothbrush. Obviously that is more complicated if the cashback is already paid.

    • Cashback is likely to be a couple of months.

    • My cashback was claimed 8 June, received 13 August

  • I'm after the Triumph 5000, I couldn't find any in stock in time when it was on special in Target.
The cheapest I could find online is from http://www.westfield.com.au/au/retailers/pharmacy-online/pro… for $149 ($99 after cashback) or could try and price match on Chemist Warehouse Online (http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/AboutUs/faq.asp#49) for $135 ($85) after cashback.
What do you guys think? Can you find it cheaper anywhere else?

This Shaver Shop Cash Back offer is not worth the trouble and is basically worthless. Only after you have made your purchase and get back home and read the terms and conditions do you realise that you are not actually going to get any Cash Back at all.

I refer you to these sites as they spell out exactly what the problems are with this offer.

I have submitted a complaint to Consumer Protection and I will be taking my Oral B 500 back to Shaver Shop for a refund. It is possible to buy this same item from the UK for a total of $55.66 including postage and with no fraudulent cash back offer involved. For the sake of an extra $0.71 I will gladly pay it to stop Shaver Shop from trying to con me - and I won't shop there again. So they have lost a potential customer by their insincerity and their fake Cash Back offer.

I dare say the item can be found elsewhere for at least as good a deal without being promised something which is not going to be honoured.

    • Just so you know the UK brush will have a different charger plug.

        Yeah 1 got $2 adaptor

    • +1

Got 2 from langton, thanks mate.
      I hate cashback/redemption bull shit.

    • What are you on about? I dont see why you say this is worthless - many people here have received their cashback.

  • The thing is you don't receive any "CASH" back….

All you get is a VISA gift card loaded with $30 which you MUST spend at participating merchants WITHIN A SPECIFIED TIME FRAME. You cannot convert the card value (or any unspent part of it) to cash. The Shaver Shop father's day catalogue actually states that the cost of the Oral-B toothbrush will be $24.95 after the $30 gift card. This is plainly false advertising. It is only true if you actually get the $30 cash refund in hand.

The word "CASH" denotes currency in the form of notes and/or coins which you can spend "ANYWHERE" at "ANYTIME", or if it is your preference, simply put it in your bank account. There are no hidden terms and conditions applied to true cash back offers - if indeed they exist in reality. A cash back offer should actually reduce the amount paid for the purchased item by the amount stated in the offer. But this one doesn't - you must actually spend the discount amount loaded onto the card. So how can it be a discount? It is just a scheme to get you to buy an item at the normal cost (disregard the RRP which we all know is false) and then to spend the gift card value as well.

    • Please read the terms & conditions fully - you can use this at any store which accepts VISA cards and there is a possibility to withdraw cash:

"The casback amount will be uploaded onto the VISA pre paid card and can be used worldwide, online and over the phone, or at any shop that has VISA capabilities. Redemption of the VISA pre paid card is subject to any terms and conditions of the issuer including those specified on the VISA pre paid cards. Pre paid cards cannot be used to obtain any cash advance or returned for a refund. For $50 cashback amount, there is also a one-time ATM access capability available at no additional fee from
Citibank, Westpac, St George, Bank of Melbourne and bank SA nationally that allows consumers to withdraw cashback amount in the form of cash."

The Shavershop advert does not mention anything about "Cash back", it says you will get a $30 gift card which is exactly what it is!
