    • Well spotted. I tried all codes and none apply on that site. Comes to $949 delivered. Richer than my camping budget and my priority for a new tent is blackout so my 4yo stops rising at 4am in QLD summer.

  • +1

My experience is that the bigger the inflatable thing is, the easier it is to have packing problems in a near future due to punctures.

  • I don't understand why this tent is inflatable………….is it just faster than popup tent type arrangement?

    • +1

Instead of worrying about any assembly you just unroll it and pump it up. They've gained in popularity over the years but I still wouldn't buy one.

    • +1

I guess it's for people who are even too lazy for an "instant" tent, I doubt it's faster just minimal effort. Personally I wouldn't touch one of these things, if I'm spending $1k on a tent I don't want one that's one small puncture away from being ruined, or a leak away from collapsing.

      • +1

All it takes is one little 'prick'

        • +3

Could be a lot of those depending on where you camp.

        • +1

And that prick's always Bernard…. why Bernard ? why ?!

          • +1

@bolt_krank: I had a 'Bernie' (yes that was his name) camp next to us, and him and his friends used to stay past curfew talking, and you could hear his high pitched laugh, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. So annoying, when you are in a tent, and an insomniac.

            • @BewareOfThe Dog: near impossible to prick. it is surrounded by multiple layers. Read up on them

              • @ak hunter: That's good to know. :)

              • +1

@ak hunter: Was going to say this. I love the 'I know nothing about them, but here's my opinion on why you shouldn't buy one'.

We bought one (Not this one, the technical cotton one). It's great. No poles. The air tubes are reinforced and as said layered, you'd need to deliberately try to puncture a hole in them with a knife for it to 'get a small puncture'.

Heaps of people use these and have NO problems.

They also have a repair kit.

They are actually MORE stable than a pole. If a pole snaps due to wind etc, the pole is broken. These will temporarily deform somewhat and then bounce back into shape.

They've come a LONG way from the first versions of inflatable tents.

    No stamp duty required !!!

How long does it take to inflate this tent? And how long does it take to roll it up?

  • My pride couldn't

  • +6

You have to peg down the base, attach the inflator to each “pole” section separately, and then peg down all the guy ropes. So it’s not the low effort dream it sounds like

    • +10

That sounds horrible! I will continue to stay at home

    • And that is different to most tents how?
      Any 'normal' tent.
      Spread out.
Put the poles together (something this size does not use one pole).
      Attach the poles.
Put it up. Usually requiring two people for something this size.
Put the fly over it. Peg down the fly.
Peg out the guy ropes (yes you should use guy ropes on all tents, especially ones using a fly).

This tent, especially for it's size, is quick to get up to 'usable'. There are a few more storm straps to put out, but only required if windy. But doesn't take longer.
