    just for kids 6 to 14 :(

    • +51

Yeah, not fair on the other kids aged 15-99

    • My 5-year old did the Christmas and Father’s Day sessions. It was fine.

      • Unfortunately I don't think I can pass as a 14 year old anymore 😔

        • Tell them you're Hazbullah

          • @Chicken Kyiv: But.. He looks the right age, but is actually old.
You would need to be reverse Hazbullah for this plan to work.

Or actually be Hazbullah and lie about your age, I guess.

      • My 4-year old was too honest and was denied. Cost me a consolation Lego City set

    • Good, this should be for kids only.

    • +9

How do you do, fellow kids?

    • Prove that I am not 6-14 ;)

    • Don't worry, I just happen to be a really tall 6 year old with a beard

  • +2

These sessions are great. Only normally takes 5-10 mins for a 6 year old but….FREE lego!

  • +10

Thanks OP I got tickets for the kids.

I remember that we went to the Father's Day make-n-take. The event was supposedly full but we were the only one there.

People who make these bookings and don't turn up should really cancel to free up spots for others.

      totally agree。

In Canberra they just handed people the bag and they could make it there or just leave with it so there wasn’t necessarily a group there building them.

Also think they were happy to hand them out to people that’d put their name down at any time in the day.

      • I want this. At Melb C I felt the purpose was to get photos of the kids making stuff for socials. Everyone had to make it there. Booked out and enough people turned up for the stunt.

        • Or is it that the kids build the small model, while the parents get tempted by the more expensive sets while they are waiting?
Oh and the kids point out which model they would like next birthday.

    • Yeah, every time I subscribe to the Waitlist, but I've never been notified that a spot has become available. Even when I've visited the store anyway and no-one turned up.

Once upon a time, Eventbrite blocked people that made bookings but didn't show up - I wonder why they stopped that.

Anyone have spare kids? I have candy.

    • +1

      Try outside the store

    • +2

This is why they have now put an age limit on the events

      • +1

        To promote kidnapping?

  • Some spots available Saturday afternoon at Highpoint, VIC. Morning sold out.

  • +2

Well Doncaster is completely booked out as usual

  • Thanks op! First time I got in before sold out

  • +3

I like to adorn all my Chinese New Year sets with Winnie the Pooh minifigs.

  • Thanks. Think I managed to get the last one at Doncaster

  • +4

Reminder that the website is totally rubbish since it doesn't tell you if the event is booked out until you click in to the date and time. Use the app instead.

    • Thanks for the tip, just wish I'd seen it a few hours earlier! XD

    Nothing for us Taswegians 😭

      Fly to Melbourne.

      • I don't have wings

        • +1

Luckily there are these things called airplanes that can get you to Melbourne in an hour.

          • -1

@kerfuffle: So there are. I must book first class flights for my kid and myself next time one of these free workshops comes up. Problem solved!

  • Thank you OP

  • Thank you OP. QLD Robina is all sold out

  • Worth going for older kids ie 13-14? Sounds like 6-14 are all using the same bricks ?

  • +2

I hate the eventbrite site so much. I can't believe how bad it is.

  • +2

Karrinyup WA is completely sold out

  • +2

I could do without people posting these things as soon as the email is released! haha.
I subscribe to the newsletter pretty much just for these events, and have to endure about four emails per day of the latest (and not so latest) sets they sell.
So the email comes through at 9.15am, soonest I get to read it is an hour later, I spend the next half an hour systematically scrolling through Eventbrite's horrible booking system to find that all slots at the two nearest stores are already sold out.
I come on OzB at lunchtime and discover the reason is it was posted here within five minutes of being released.
    Grrr.

Credit to the OP for being on the ball though.

Agreed the website is horrendous to use. It's been suggested the app works better?

      • Thanks for the tip - although another app to install XD

  • Everytime I see this alert, it's already sold out… Haha.. Almost pointless..

    • same

    • download the eventbrite app and sub to AG Lego

      • Shhh!

        • Lol did you downvote me for helping Lancerx get a slot for their child??

      • +1

I did download the app at one stage, but most of the time when I get to the notifications, it's almost all sold out.. Guess I need to manage my notifications better huh

  • No tix available for NSW

    • Still some in Charlestown NSW location. May not be local for you though.

  • Canberra goneskis

  • All sessions sold out in SA

  • Can't find any time available 😕

  • I got 2 x Sunday tickets at Broadway Sydney but I can't go. Anyone has Saturday ticket wants to swap with me?

  • Anyone with extra tickets sharing a slot in WA? Thanks!

  • Any got their tickets cancelled today? Two of the tickets I booked for cancelled.

  • +1

Ayo my tickets got cancelled too!

  • +1

One of my tickets got cancelled. Very disappointing.
I can't just send one kid there as the other will get upset

  • Does anyone know which app we're talking about here?

    • +1

      App called Eventbrite

  • Yeah I just had two tickets cancelled of my four. Can now only get sets for half my children. Very poor form given it’s children missing out.

  • So I emailed a store manager - Lego’s marketing department can jam it.

Apparently if you booked multiple times for the one session you had your tickets cancelled. Which I find dumb, as I booked in 3 kids myself (max booking as we know is 2).

    How horrible.

    • I booked one child for one session and two for the following session and had the first session cancelled. Do they assume there are no families with more than two children? I suppose they just don't care
