Dunlop SP Sport FM800 Tyres Buy 3 Get 4th Free (from $429 for 4, e.g. 205/55R16 $534 Fitted) @ Beaurepaires

My dad's Corolla Hybrid's rear right has a very slow leak and we went to My Car because it was the closest and he wanted the puncture repaired. The guys there were like, we can't do it because the tyre is too old and has cracks on the sidewalls. My dad is a (profanity) cheap bastard and only wanted to change the rear 2. The front 2 are cheap Chinese tyres that prob cost $80.

I found these Dunlops, which are well reviewed, and it's cheapest at Beaurepaires. I checked Bob Jane, Tyroola, Jax, Supercheap etc, and Beaurepaires are cheaper by $100+

So I booked it in, haven't told dad because I don't want to argue with him, and I'm just gonna steal his car and one day he'll have new, good tyres. I think tyres are one of, if not the most important component of a car or motocycle (lots of personal experience here), or any vehicle really. So don't cheap out.

Bridgestone Turanza deal is back again, buy 3 get 1 free. It might be little extra than these, but it gives 50,000km wear life warranty. I had those just installed on my car, and feel is good. Also, the service from bridgestone has been amazing, they gave warranty booklet to inspect and rorate tyres every 5000km, and i think 1 puncture etc is free as well.

    • 50,000km wear life warranty

Be careful with any extra long life tyres.

They can't do this whilst also offering maximum grip - be aware of the compromise when you choose !

    • Yep another vote for Serenity Plus. These have a great reputation for a reason.

Super quiet, good grip, and reasonable life.

Yeah, don't cheap out the tyres the only thing contact the road and brakes.

  • Shoutout for mycar which provide free puncture repairs for life of the tyres if you buy a set with them, and that's at any mycar nation wide (good for travellers).

  • like

  • Michelin energy xm2+ or Dunlop SP Sport FM800?

Dry Grip? Wet grip? Wear? Rolling resistance?
    Rubber compound? Tread pattern?

Which is Better overall for a Toyota 4 cylinder granny car

  • Need advice please, get this or the bridgestone turanza serenity plus deal?
Work out to be the same price, both have good reviews
Car is a 2014 honda odyssey, about 15k done every year

    • I heard dunlop has more road noise. I am unable to find the age/kms of dunlop but for Serenity it's 50,000 guarantee and people reporting it goes to 80,000 - 100,000 with regular rotation.

      • Anecdotal evidence is unreliable

  • Bob Jane had a similar price for these exact tyres over black friday weekend. Must be a surplus in Australia.

    • Pretty sure same company that owns Bob Jane owns Dunlop

Got these on my VW Jetta 18 months ago wet and dry both grip is good but road noise is too much once the car reach above 60kmph. The car came with Michelin tyres before changing to this and that was awesome even at end of its life the grip is totally awesome comfy and silent ride.

  • When does this deal finish.

  • $894 vs $784 on tyresales for my car.

coming up as $558 fitted for 205/55R16

    • yep same

  • 205/60R16 coming up as $678 fitted, not a good price

Where as the bridgestone turanza same size coming up as $585 fitted.

Based on feedback in the comments the turanza appears to be a more comfortable ride, and with the price difference its a no brainer.

    • nevermind had a look at the reviews on tyrereviews and the dunlop was much favored. For the $100 difference it seems worth it to go with dunlop
