Need it if you have a really good expensive pillow. I dunt.

    • True, or if you have young kids and don't want to be buying new pillows every month - the stuff that comes out of their faces at night sometimes…

Or a wife who drools. Ffs.

        My 5yo daughter is clean.

      • you can use tape across their mouths when they sleep, just do it safely and make sure they can breathe though their nose (this also stops snoring)

I think they are useful regardless for sweat stains.

      • Isn't that whats the pillow cover is for? I change my cover every week but I haven't changed the pillow protector ever

        • Just an added layer, can't hurt.

I doubt pillow cases alone are for that. More cosmetical.

Bought some, assuming these are better than the 4 pack at target for 5 bucks?

    • I haven't used those, but have had tontine ones that are still going strong 5 years later.

I find the cheaper ones with a waterproof layer tend to shed that later after a while or after a few washes, leaving plastic dandruff like stuff on the pillow and the bed.

  • does anyone know if these are actually comfortable? my main issue with pillow protectors is they have been uncomfortable in the past

I use the Harris Scarfe ones for a decade or more. No issues.

They aren't! I bought some and they were terrible, and the fabric extends vertically beyond most pillows size so you end up with a flap of fabric as well under your neck.

  • Meh cost more than my pillows

  • Thanks OP

  • Should I ask why people are getting stains on their pillows? Dirty jokes aside of course?

You trying to tell me after a year or more of rubbing your face up against your pillow for 8 hours a day it's spotless?

Next minute you fart rainbows too?

Unless you actually believe your username…

  • Who cares if the pillow is stained? Isn't that why we have pillow cases? Worried about the resale value?

It's easier to clean than a pillow…. Kinda hygienic mate..

Normal pillow cases don't stop marks on pillows.

  • Great find Op. Thanks.

good for allergy sufferers btw. daughter has a fair amount of allergy to dust mites, i spent $$$$$ at a specialist and basically got this advice (for dust mite allergy btw):
    * take allergy tablet once a day (zyrtec etc)
    * use pillow protector, and wash/change pillow cover and protector once a week
    * also got a prescription nasal spray, but children being children, daughter lost it promptly.

but the second point alone has made a big difference! which makes sense, really… avoid what you get allergy from and youo won't get allergy!

so yeah. if you get allergy at night (e.g. from dust mites), this might be a good investment :)

  • probably worth about $5.. ozbargainers just cover with glad wrap

  • Thanks, wasn't quick enough but bought Tontine Comfortech Cotton Quilted Pillow Protector, White, Pack of 2 https://amzn.asia/d/ivi2yya instead.

I've got Costco pillows that I like but keep getting feathers pricking me at night. Hopefully, these protectors should be able to keep them in the pillow.

  • In stock again

Thanks for reminding me that I need to get some new protectors. As these were OOS, I found some at 50% off at Myer that look well reviewed:
