Sigh. Was on a whisky buying diet, but at this price this was too hard to pass up. Thanks.

This is Whiskey, not Whisky. There's a difference.

    Thanks, bought one too

Well….. that was $128 I didn't expect to spend today

  • +1

Always heard this was good but could never find it at a good price till now

Buffalo Trace and E.H. Taylor are crafted at the Buffalo Trace Distillery using the same mash as Eagle Rare.

The reddit reviews almost universally put this at a 5 or 6 out of 10, and a "good drop, not great" with about 4 other suggestions at the price point.

And thats at $50 odd usd.

So….wildly overpriced at the down under at the rrp? Might get one for a taste at this price.

What ere the 4 other suggestions?

It varies. But it seems there's a good world o bourbon out there. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeit.

        • Link? I want to check it out. I remember this being a solid 7-8/10. The only ones I can think of are Old Grand Dad 114, Weller 12, Old Weller Antique 107 and maybe some other weird shit you cannot get here.

OGD114 was available for a while (just checked my emails and I bought 3 in 2016 for $98 each! (profanity) shoudl've bought more), and good luck finding any Wellers, and if you do, the prices will make your eyes bleed.

So right now, for a high proof bourbon, that's actually available, in the $120 range, there's ony Booker's, WT Rare Breed, and Old Ezra 7. That's it!

All 3 are great btw, and so is the one in this post.

    • Youre not wrong but this bottle is also stupid hard to find at a decent price within aus.

This is the cheapest ive ever seen it delivered for a few years even though i feel like its still overpriced at 125.

Im willing to give it a shot and see if bourbon can be as good as scotch.

    • I would have to agree. I bought a bottle when it wasn't on special, think like $280 and after people tried it, I couldn't give it away. As much as I know I will probably go to hell for this, I am sure I finished the bottle by mixing it with coke.

      • weird , it's supposed to be a step up over eagle rare which is delicious. Hope I like it. Either way, it's your whiskey enjoy it how you like

        • I love Eagle Rare, it was the first bourbon I ever tried, and I will always have a bottle in my bar.

          • @amahon: They're $92 on boozebud with the deal, 4 bottles left. I didn't buy any as I just cracked a bottle and bought heaps of other stuff.

  • Would have bought in a heartbeat if theyd post to regional WA. Suich a load of crap that they wont. I mean, if i have to pay for postage give me the damn option. this happens every time theres alcohol on ebay. Never had this issue with amazon. Still upvoted the deal cuz damn its a good price.

    • I don't bother with Booze Bud as they won't deliver to Tas. Only one of these deals I've found who do are Secret Bottle.

      • Ill keep an eye out for those guys. I hate missing out :P

I wont make a separate post since there only 5 left in stock but if anyone is after (imo one of the best) single malt around the same price range boozebud also has Glengrant 18yo @ $132.59 (ebay plus) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285104419467

FYI cheapest i can find is dan's stocking them for $169.9

    • Wish had read it on time, oos now :(

    • Ended up buying Glenmorangie 18 Years Old for same price.

    • Glen Grant 15 was very very ordinary when on a previous boozebud deal. Will never buy again

      • I dunno why but 3 extra years (18) always takes it to another level, devo’d I missed it again sigh

    • I bought, got sent tracking and then got bloody refunded 🤬

      • Did you get it

        • Nope, then tracking became non existent

          • @TheGman101: They cancelled a bunch of my orders with no communication. Not too happy with boozebud

  • Love buffalo trace. Drink it weekly, often in an old fashioned.
Friend got me a bottle of eagle rare a few weeks ago. Best bourbon I've ever had
    Can't wait to try this.
    Thanks OP.

    • Travesty the price of Eagle Rare these days. Still the best bourbon on the market for price though in my opinion.

      • I agree, I went to restock on my Eagle Rare over NY's and couldn't believe it was at $115, the last case I bought I paid in the early $80s per bottle for it.

  • This is back in stock for anyone interested

    • If you are with boozebud, it would have been nice if you sent me my Glendronach 21, instead of not giving me an update of late delivery. Then trying to refund it, or a $5 gesture of a bottle near that price. I wont post any more deals from boozebud and i siggest others look else where for purchases. Very unhappy withvthe service

mine arrived today. Having one now with cube of ice to cut through the 50%abv. Delicious!

As nice as it is, no chance i'd pay the $260 asking price Dan Murphy's demand
