[Want] HTC Desire HD for parts

Hey guys,

Just got phone back from warranty repair and basically got told it can't be fixed due to corrosion damage (due to a design fault (the volume key fell out and the button underneath has rusted) I am wondering if anyone would happen to have an old (dead? Broken screen?) of the same phone that I could use for parts? If not, life goes on, but thanks anyway.

Ha.. the volume key on my desire hd fell out as well.

    Class action?

  • I have one, works fine, but my volume key is also fucked and there is a small scratch on the screen.

Seems like we all have had the same problem… I sent it away for warranty repair, and it came back with a scratch on the screen (covered luckily, but still going into the store to rip into them, fed up with Vodafone tbh)

Check where the volume key used to be, do you guys see any signs of rust?

  • Tell them you have reception issues, the desire HD doesn't support the 850mhz brand. They will cancel the rest of the contract and you can sign up for a new phone. They did that with my shitty reception issues. Its better with the new phone(One X), still not great though.

    • We have already upgraded and got an S3 (Not without it's own problems/shit reception) but wanted to get the HD fixed up as it is a handy phone to have, and was still with in warranty for about 12 months somehow.

      • was still with in warranty for about 12 months somehow.

They give warranty for the life of your contract, usually two years.

        • Yea, but by my records the contract was signed around November-December 2010, they told me that the phone warranty is until September next year, not that it matters anymore as they refused to honour it, and I have since rooted it and reflashed it and purchased a volume key to put in myself, no big deal really.
