Bought it at Boxing Day sale and very happy with it. Far superior to the one that came with my pressure washer. I did have to buy an adapter to fit my machine for about $8

    • Do they sell the adapter or have any you recommend?

      • +1

Description says: Includes 2 adapters for the popular Karcher and Stihl/Gerni pressure washers.

      • +1

Depends on your brand of pressure washer.
Comes with Karcher and Gerni but there's a list and pictures of all them here. Would be quicker and cheaper to pick up from the current Supercheap sale though just take note of which one you need

  • +2

For those who own SCA branded pressure washer can use this

  • +1

That brass fitting looks similar to the ones from eBay, I wonder if this one is that much better?

If you deduct the face value of the solution, which is about $30, then $33 for the bottle is not too bad. Cheap ones from eBay would cost $25.

    • The canon rrp is about $100. Usually find it for $70 on sale so it's a good deal at this price if you want the mega snow (I wouldn't advise using it every wash, get another product that isn't as aggressive/harsh).

  • +1

    He said Mega Blow.

    • +2

      I'd rather a Mega Pint 🤣

  • +17

Steve gave it a 3 star because he didn't know it requires a pressure washer. Gee, that's why aways read the review comments.

    • +6

      Classic Steve

    • +1

I also made this mistake but I wouldn't mark down for my own error

  • does it help to remove dead insects, mud etc?

    • You would prime the car with a blast from the pressure washer alone which would remove that stuff.

This is more of a detergent to do an initial wash and remove specks of stuff stuck to the clear coat that you use before then doing a 2 bucket method wash

      • what happens is I go camping and by the time I came back just so tired to wash it on the day next next few days.
It will normally take me 1-2 weeks to wash the car.
So I use the pressure washer first to rinse the car then use 2 bucket method, I think the problem is because the dirt, insects' body etc stay on the paint for too long, so it still took me a lot of effort to clean the car.

        • I would expect the first pressure washer run-over to pull most of that gunk off. In my experience the snow foam helps to remove micro particles of dust and results in a much better clean after 2-bucket method is completed.

If I were you I'd sooner do 2-bucket method with warm water after the pressure washer.

However the real solution here is to give it a pressure wash as soon as you get home from camping

        • I got this stuff by itself last week after a big road trip with lots of beach driving. This is not regular snow and is specific for caked on crap and has salt neutralisers etc. Even says not to use it all the time as it will strip waxes. Did a much better job of other products I’ve used prior to easily removed the front’s layers of bugs, red dirt and sand from 11 days of remote travelling. Only thing it didn’t do is remove the dried up water mineral spots from a couple of attempted rinse downs on the trip but clay towel got them off. Would not recommend using as your standard wash though

          • @Wombatstew: After rinsing a car after washing how do you prevent mineral water spots? On the glass and the body? If I have them now from previous washes how would I remove them?

            • @thepigs: Bowdens clay rubber pad thing, along with something to lubricate it (like a rather concentrated wash solution)

            • @thepigs: To remove clay does good job as @Obsidiate said. To prevent can’t let any liquid evaporate throughout process. wash in shade and rinse then towel dry before it can evaporate

      • What is the 2 bucket method? I have a lot to learn of car washing it seems. I got a Gerni for xmas and just used it with the underbody angle attachment and also have the low pressure attachment so will try that for car washing. It has a detergent spray bottle attachment similar to this but no snow.

        • +4

Two bucket method is when you have one bucket filled with clean car soap water and the other bucket is to wash the used cloth.

So for me, i spray on snow foam.. let it break down the dirt.. then I use the pressure washer to wash off the foam.. this step is important to remove any visible dirt ..as you don’t want to the dirt drag around when you use the cloth to wash the car.

Then one bucket with soapy water and another one with just water.. dunk you clean cloth in the soapy water.. then when you have washed an area then dunk the dirty cloth into the just water bucket to remove any dirt that’s attached to it.. squeeze the water on the ground than dunk the cloth back into the soapy water and repeat ..

After that, rinse the car to wash off the soap..

This is to prevent paint swirls.. my car is around 5 years old and still looks like new :)

          • +1

@Karenkw: Thanks for the detailed reply. Really helpful ! I was using one bucket and swirling dirt around probably creating mini scratches swirls. Will try this out :)

    • +1

I've tested it and it doesn't make much of a difference vs just using the pressure washer on its own.
For dead insects and mud you likely still need to hand wash with a cloth anyway, to fully remove the dirt

      • does it soften the mud and insects so at least it is a bit easier?

        • Yeah definately mate, Ive washed dirtbikes many times and a snow type product is the way to go, but there is no touch free mud removal. Just do an initial hose off before you begin.

    • Buy the Bowdens Bathurst pack and use the 'bugger off' spray

    • +1

Soak the car for few minutes on microform. Make sure you are not doing it on a sunny spot. Once soaked pressure wash and most of the dead insects etc will remove. I use meguiars gold and usually use higher concentrate than recommended. Works a treat.

    • +1

The answer to this question is it will "help" to remove them. Will it remove them if they've been on the car for weeks and weeks? - NO.

The purpose of snowfoam is to loosen as much debris as possible prior to using a mit on the paint. So, the hope is that initial power blast of plain water gets 60%, powerblasting off snowfoam after about a 5min dwell time on the vehicle will help take that to about 80-90% depending on how long it's been since the last wash. Then rinse foam off and use mit and soapy water to clean the car prior to final rinse.

    • I use it to spray carwash on the car and then scrub with a sponge. Pressure washing to rinse only vs rinse then this then rinse doesn't really seem to make a difference

  • Was tossing up between Bowden’s and MJJC but this pack combined with the Boxing Day sale made Bowden’s an easy decision. Brass does not couple too well with the plastic bottle but otherwise very happy with it.

    • Have MJJC and it is good no connection problems but agree for this price I would have gone bowdens.

    • I have Karcher, Bowden's and MJJC. MJJC wins hands down. The rest were a waste of money.
The only difference between them is MJJC has a steel mesh which creates shaving cream foam. The rest don't have it.

You're meant to replace the mesh over time but I've never found the need. About 50 washes in.

      • +1

My MJJC is probably 10 years old and still going strong. Cannot fault that.

      • Is your MJJC the standard one or more expensive model?

      • Since the beginning of 2022, MJJC have excluded the additional Mesh Filters as seen in some earlier 'Unboxing Videos' on YouTube.

  • Does this just hook up to a tap and hose or you neee something special?

    • Need a Karcher or Stihl/Gerni pressure washer. I've got a Ryobi but it uses 1/4" Quick Connect so probably won't fit…

    • You need a pressure washer like a Gerni or Karcher.

      • Any deals on a good pressure cleaner?

  • +2

Man I love a good snow job.

  • +2

I thought this thing was for foam parties and almost bought it without thinking…

  • How long should a 1L bottle last?
I got the chemical guys pink foam wash, and use it on an ozito pressure washer with its attachment.
Fill up the bottle and it gets used up pretty fast each wash.
First time using it so just wondering how many washes can we get out of a litre.

    • +1

a lot i had a litre for at least 2 years and washed my car 1-2 times a month

    • You fill it up about 100ml, so 10 washes out of a bottle.

      • +2

U only need 50ml for one car

        • +1

ah. guess i should have read the instructions first.

    • How long should a piece of string measure?

It depends on the size of your car, how often you wash it, how dirty it is, etc.

    • I started with the Ozito pressure washer and the Ozito foam cannon and it was crap. I've since bought the Autoglym foam cannon since it was on sale at the time. I got the Bowden's Own BOADAPTOR8 brass adaptor so it will connect the Ozito hose and the results are way better.

      • Yeah I bought the ozito foam cannon too but it's my first so I've got nothing to compare it against to, what makes you say that it's not good?

        • The foam wouldn't ever really foam up in a big way and it immediately would sort of slide off. I started with the dilution ratio on the bottle and eventually went to undiluted but it didn't help. With the new foam cannon I dilute the snow foam 1/10 like recommended on the bottle and the foam is really fluffy and stays on the car for minutes.

After 4 uses over about 2 months I noticed the Ozitio bottle fatigued and cracked when I tried to screw it on, probably from snow foam left in the bottle between uses that just degraded the plastic.

          • @plastic spoon: Ah yes, I noticed that the foam didn't fluff up and stay like in the videos too!
So you went with the Autoglym yeah? Would you say any of the other brands would do a better job than the Ozito?

            • +1

@ps3udo: I haven't tested anything else but I get the feeling it was the Ozito cannon that sucked and probably any other brand name cannon would be fine. I'm still happy with the Ozito pressure washer though

    • +1

I find on a regularly washed car you need no where near the recommended ratio, making it very economical, I achieve great foam on around 1/2 or 1/4 the recommended ratio but will also depend on the hardness of your water.

  • +4

This is a good deal, but keep in mind the Mega Snow Job is quite intensive and not recommended for basic maintenance washes. I pretty much only use it if the car is super dirty (hasn't been washed in months) or as a strip wash before paint correcting. You can smell the degreaser in the foam.

If it's just for maintenance washes you're better off getting the standard Snow Job formula.

    • Second this. Used it in weekend after big trip. Helped get all the bugs, red dirt and sand off better than other products but def wouldn’t use it for typical washes

  • Does this fit ozito pressure washer (one of ozbargainer's most favourite pressure washers) directly please?

    • You will need an adapter different to the ones it comes with.
It's either #8 or #10 from here. Measure yours to be sure but order the adapter from Supercheap, Repco etc

      • The number 8 worked for me, I've got the current model 2030psi 1800W Ozito pressure washer.

        • Thanks mate. I have got same model as your's.

  • I have a Bosch Aquatak 125 which came with it's own foamer. The Snow Cannon is leagues better but I had to buy a $9 attachment for Bosch. Also, be careful as the plastic bottle easily loses it's thread.

Once you're used to it, pretty much makes it all easier. I use this + 2 Bucket method using Gyeon Bathe and got a few neighbor's compliments XD

And please, avoid using in direct sunlight if you can.

  • +1

This works nicely with my ozito pressure washer from bunnings, but you need to purchase the adapter separately for around $8 from repco/sca, i believe it's called Lavor adapter.

  • Wonder how this would go vs karcher foam Cannon attachment

    • I purchased the K2 and it came with a foam cannon. It’s junk for car foam. If you’re spraying degreaser or an APC, it works fine.

  • -1

Waste of time, just like the wheely clean. Only works if the car is pretty much spotless before the wash, and if it was, why did you bother washing it?

    • Sounds like you in fact didnt bother washing it.

  • Why do these snow cannons need a high pressure (ie gerni) driver?

Surly the average hose would be enough pressure to mix and shoot foam?

    • Even if they were able to bottle foam ( and have it stay foam) a household tap would just dilute it.
I think Aldi sell a non powered nozzle, give it a try

  • ph9? Does it damage paint and tyre?

    • +1

The mega is a harsh non frequent use wash when needed. At certain ratios (1:4 from memory) it says it will strip waxes

  • What's the best pressure washer for this unit?

    • One with pressure of around1800psi+

  • snow job for $63…touch on the high side

  • I picked one up as an upgrade to my Karcher foam cannon. I'm not interested in the solution… seems very harsh. Straight on eBay.

    • Apparently it's safe on sealants/coating, but will remove wax. I'll probably keep it for use when it's time to reapply the sealant every few months or so.

Safe for ceramic coatings and quality sealants like our Bead Machine, Wet Dreams and Happy Ending, but can affect Carnauba waxes.

  • Best method i found for insects was to kay down chux or paper towel over the area, soak it, go away, come back in 5 mins.

All you really need to do is rehydrate the goop and it comes right off.

Best part is this can be done at any gas station. Many have free paper towel. Used to be a standard part of the home bound gas stop for motorcycle weekend tours. East.

  • I just got a $20 one from AliExpress. Came with brass fittings. Seems to do a decent job.
