The National Public Toilet Map

Moved to Forum: Original Link

It's always free but definitely worth a mention. Finding a bathroom isn't always the easiest task when you're in an unfamiliar area. Maybe this website and app will save you from humiliation and shame.

This one doesn't seem to list shops, servos or tertiary education places that have publicly accessible toilets.

I bet Alan Jones already had these marked out in his UBD's long before this app.

    • I don’t get it, is he one of those degenerates that lurks around public toilets?

      • +3

Let's just say he's been known to more than just lurk at a public toilet or 2. It's been in the news.

      • +4

There was a nasty rumour that he had a public toilet built on his Southern Highlands property when he got too old to lurk.

Has anyone ever had to poop in public because the urge hit them while walking? And what's the legal/moral obligation, should you poop your pants or is it okay to poop behind a transformer box?

    • Oddly specific

  • Needs to be online to use.
Same as using https://toiletmap.gov.au/ through a web browser

  • This and the various fuel price apps really need to be integrated with Google maps / Waze in android auto so that you can search for the nearest toilet / cheapest petrol and add as a stop whilst on your journey.

    • Off you pop then.

  • Sounds like a crap idea

  • Being in a wheelchair, it is useful to look for wheelchair accessible toilets before doing to unfamiliar areas.

I was going to my Uncle's funeral in a rural and very small country town. I looked it up on a site that was specifically for finding accessible toilets (didn't bother to download an app) and was reassured to see there were supposed to be 5 sites with suitable public toilets. We arrived and headed for the little park in the midst of the town that were supposed to have a compliant wheelchair accessible toilet. There wasn't one and I was not impressed.

After it was all over the family gathered for lunch. Luckily the more local people who had taken my Uncle to the town for outings knew which place to go that had decent toilets.

I usually rely on McDonalds as theirs are usable at least but this little town had no McDonalds and there was not one on the way either.

  • As a former Uber driver this app was a lifesaver!
