28 Degrees Credit Card - BPay Transfer

Hi guys, after reading positive things about this cc I got one and pre loaded some money into the account on Monday using bpay from commbank. 2 days later and I am now overseas without any cash because my 28 deg account is still showing zero balance. Any idea how long it usually takes for the money to show up in the cc account?

  • Hi mate,

Im also overseas using on of these cards.

I spoke with them before I left and they said it takes 3-4 days to transfer.

Double check the account number you used. It should be the same as your card with a variation in the last 3 digits.

On a side note, cash withdrawals do not appear on your account in real time. Something to keep in mind.

    Happy travels!

    • Thanks for the infos, I feel much better now. I thought might have Bpay-ed into wrong account or something. Hopefully my 100 AUD can last me for another day or so. Happy travels to you too.

  • usually mine is showing next business day

    from CBA as well

are you bpaying into the details on the statement? or card number?

  • Yeah watch out as the BPAY account you pay into is different from your card number - think the first 8 digits are the same or something and the rest are different

You should check your statement for the correct account number to pay into

  • Yep takes around 3-4 days for money to appear after BPAY, used this card early this year on my holiday.

If you really need to you can still make cash withdrawals, the interest for that will be minimal since your BPAY should come through anytime. Did that a couple of times myself.

When I was in Africa, cash withdrawals took up to 4-5 days to appear on the statement, making it a pain to track spending and the exchange rates.

  • It takes longer for transferred funds to appear on your card if you bpay into your card number. On the other hand if bpay into your account number(which is communicated later separate to the new card communication)it usually appears the next business day.

I was told by the customer service the difference in the card number and the account number is intentional to protect the account in case of a lost card.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers.

    • How do you BPAY to your card number? When using BPAY, I can only enter the biller code (which is the 28 degrees) and the customer reference number. The customer reference number is the one I found from the statement, in the payment method section that mentions BPAY.

      • you put the card number as the CRN (but this isn't advisable, use the CRN on the statement, which is your account number)

  • I have the same problem. I transferred money into this card on Monday and it still hasn't appeared by Friday. GE keep assuring me that the money will be there the next day. How long did it eventually take for it to appear? I leave for overseas on Tuesday and really want to be able to access that money!

  • I wanted to ask a question about the 28 degrees mastercard, hope you guys don't mind i'm new on this site!!

I've been approved for the card and was really excited as the reviews on the card have been fantastic.

I called them to confirm that I can basically use the card as a debit/credit card and load as much of my own money on it as possible.

The woman told me that it's not safe to do so as my money isn't protected, which I understand. But she said to me that I can only load as much as as my credit limit allows. For example i have $1000 credit limit, so therefore can only load $1000 of my own money at a time. She said that if I load more than this there is a chance the account will be blocked and inaccessible.

Does anyone know if this is true?? or if they are just trying to discourage me from using my own money? Does anyone have any advice how to get around this/spend your own $$ on the card? I plan to spend my savings overseas but wanted all the awesome benefits of the 28 degrees card.

    Any answers would be awesome!

    Thanks
    Zoe

    • Well I used my 28 degress card on a recent trip to Hawaii. It only has a $1000 limit but I loaded $5000 on there no problems. All worked well, I hardly withdrew cash at all, just paid credit everywhere. Brilliant card.
