Casio is an electronics manufacturing company that was founded in 1946 by Tadao Kashio. The brand has a versatile portfolio, from musical instruments and digital cameras to analogue and digital watches. The company rose to popularity quickly after releasing its first-ever product, a cigarette holder, which proved to be a huge success. Casio became involved in electronics in 1954 when they released Japan's first electro-mechanical calculator.

During the “Quartz Revolution” in the 1970s, Casio expanded and became one of the first brands to create quartz watches which solidified the brand as an innovator in horological society. The brand’s timepieces are affordable and long-wearing, making them a favourite to both enthusiasts and everyday people. With the large variety of wristwatches and their commitment to progress, it is no surprise Casio has remained amongst the giants in the industry.

here is the g-shock website. simple google search:
          https://gshock.com.au/products/gm2100-1a

          • @J-liam: By the looks, the shop is not the brightest light.

            • +1

@dosada: Australian RRP is jacked compared to other regions.
From memory Casio run through a 3rd party distributor for local sales.
E.g. Standard ga-2100 has RRP ~US$100 in US/Japan, but locally RRP was AU$250.
So it was very easy to find international deals significantly cheaper than local prices.

        • So I’m assuming first classes watches doesn’t set the RRP either ?

Guess it’s easier to comment then do a search lol

As an Ozbargainer I just buy stuff from the cheapest seller.

As an Ozbargainer I just buy stuff from the cheapest seller I don’t need.

        • But do you buy stuff you don't need from the cheapest seller?

          • @Cordova: Second cheapest; nearly everything I buy seems to be on further sale a week later. More HODL needed.

  • I thought all G-shocks had 200 metres water resistance. Strange this model is only 100 metres.
    Looks nice though.

    • +2

I wrote above but its 200m, sellers mistake.

  • Cool watch, but just a heads up: the dial/watchface on these are really hard to read! Both are too dark, with no contrast.

Have hardly worn mine as a result

This exact model was $217 towards the end of last year.
I tried looking it up on Wayback Machine but no dice.

It had the same red sale text though, so the 15% code CASIO15 wouldn't apply.
I didn't post it because the $217 price a decent amount higher than $189 in this deal for the blue version. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/692638

If you catch the price around $220 without red sale text I recommend you grab it with CASIO15. Also might be worth trying the code WS20 for 20% off. If that doesn't work CASIO15 should work as long as it doesn't have the red sale text.

    • +1

Just tried and code CASIO15 applies! $221!

      • Yeah looks like they removed the red sale text since I last looked. Nice one!

Although personally I would have tried waiting for another price drop, but again no guarantee the red sale text will be removed next time.
(Last time it was $217 the red sale text was there the whole time)

Cheers mate, grabbed one using this code too.
