15% Cashback on DoorDash Gift Cards @ ShopBack App

510

Looking to get some dinner and doordash had emailed me a $10 off voucher (code was imissfood which may be targeted) but that wasn't enough so checked shopback app and they had 15% cash back on DD gift cards again. I think you have to purchase them through the app.

Deals stacked and friday dinner sorted.

Saw a comment on OzB the other day saying DoorDash is crashing down like Deliveroo. Any risk buying in now?

I cant find any news on this

    • +1

I searched in Google and if anything the opposite articles were being posted e.g. How they have such deep pockets compared to other delivery companies and how the are opening up their own convenience stores to facilitate faster grocery deliveries

After deliveroo you never know though

Careful, Doordash is super dodgy, try their customer support. If it goes under, so will your gift cards.

Shopback fully refunded my deliveroo gift cards after it went under, big respect to shopback

Huge respect to ShopBack…. I lost 1k to Deliveroo and shop back refunded the entire amount.

      • How did shopback check the balance of your deliveroo GCs? You could have partially used it before they collapsed.

    Right on time, cheers

isn't thr prices already spiked by 15% of doordash?

    • Yes, for most restaurants around me and similar case with Menulog as well so these discounts don’t mean much when I can order directly from restaurants for cheaper at most times.

      • Yup, after menu price hikes and then delivery fees and service charge fees, definitely more than 15% higher. I have had a few restaurants where the menu prices were 175% or so of the actual restaurant in store prices. Before delivery and service charge fees too.

    Buyer beware

I would not be buying giftcards, massive risk.
Just use your CC if you need to.

  • Hmmn… Hindsight..

    Deliveroo - shopback - Doordash…

Last attempt to make a few bucks before shutting down in Australia. The fact they've completely abandoned their customer service despite customer experience being the only thing a food delivery service offers is telling.

I'm willing to bet they'll be closed in Australia in a few months.

Either way, their horrid customer service makes them not worth using regardless.

Isn't that when it gets to 20%+ discount. ;)

In all seriousness Doordash should surely be doing better now that Deliveroo has been taken out. There are only 3 key players in this space left. (Menulog, Doordash and Uber Eats… maybe Easi too but more niche)

      • I thought Doordash and shopback used to do 20% off gift card specials and then it dropped to 18% and now 15%?

  • -1

Doordash is the fastest service, is partnered with McDonald’s for Mcdelivery in their app and is prone to refunding me completely for my meal if an error occurs instead of just the missing item. Perhaps it’s the users fault if they ever have any problems…

Makes me wonder why Doordash (via Shopback) don't just offer 15% cashback on orders instead of Gift Cards… It's a little too early to make the same call as per what happened to Deliveroo but I'm still getting a little deja vu from this one, didn't Deliveroo pull a similar stunt prior to shit hitting the fan?

Considering Menulog and Uber Eats have the majority of the market share (In Australia), and we're currently in a recession with inflation getting worse resulting in less overall consumer spending + consumers cutting back on costs I'd be very careful about purchasing high value gift cards via this particular deal… History has been known to repeat itself, and considering we're in trying times it's anyone's bet with what may (or may not) be happening here.

  • Anyone notice that Uber Eats ShopBack is now just 10 cents?

  • Is doordash going bust next ?
