  • Is this also on sale in QLD Coles stores? Or just NSW?

    • +1

It worked for someone in Brisbane, so it’s safe to say it would work at other QLD stores.

Additionally, there is nothing in the deal’s fine print to say it is limited to specific jurisdictions. If it was, Coles would call it out (much like how the fine print from the upcoming gift card deal in NSW/ACT specifically calls out that it is only valid in Coles’ NSW and ACT stores).

    • I got many GCs in Toowoomba Qld. Still more in stock. The last day is today.

  • Looks like all gone at the two coles I visited eg broadway NSW. All signage replaced with the Myer 15% bonus.

Ok I'm done. Managed to do16 successful trips of 5x$20 cards. I bit under halfway for my future Macbook Pro. Been interesting. Now I know a lot of Coles locations.

    • When you say successful trips, are you saying some of your trips you got knocked back?

      • I meant there were none at store, so wasted trip, or someone emptied the whole place.

This time folks haven't been hiding them in the freezer, but staff members have been lazy in unpacking stock.

    • Looks like if any either Coles or Woolies will do the next promotion for Apple cards on next week (most likely will be the reward point promotion), if they do it would be a more chance to buy more Apple products.

Cheers DB & HamBoi69 . Exhausted - managed to get $4.5k all up (15% off +2% off from HSBC+ flybuys) ) - see if i can get any tomorrow but stock is lean…

    • Which state are you in? Even without any active promotion, stock is gone. Even behind the hidden door. Too many OzBargainers in my area.

45 trips to different Coles? How much was spent on fuel? ;-)

      • Sydney - NSW . Helps to have 4 coles outlets within 10 km radius. Used multiple checkouts in every visit so not that many trips . Fuel cost would be max $20.

    • That's some real dedication there. Now I just wish I had bought more back when there were 10x EDR or something since I actually need Apple Gift Cards this week to buy something and the best I can find is 5% through Macquarie marketplace (ie need to pay with cash rather than CC). Next best I am eligible for is BUPA but that has a CC surcharge.

Just saw from one of Woolies store and "most likely" will do the EDR promotions on Apple Gife Cards on next week.

        • Care to explain a bit more. Really looking to getting some more that's more than $20 at a time. Thanks!

@kranoath: It'll probably be the same alternating promo between Woolies and Coles where you get the equivalent of 10% off through Everyday Rewards or Flybuys points.

For me it was a great way to accumulate QFF points (through Woolies Everyday Rewards) and hit my Points Club target.

Can you explain a bit more for those who have no idea?

              • @DoctorCalculon: I set my Everyday Rewards to accumulate QFF points (2000 EDR points = 1000 QFF). The points club target is just the 150k or 350k QFF milestones you need to hit in order to get certain benefits/discounts/etc.

I had to go hard on this one as I am not a fan of the flybuys or EDR promos - i don't shop at either of the stores very much and you are locked into spending in their stores - it would work for others who use the points for QFF / Velocity or if they shop at these stores anyway. These 15% off deals are better imo where you get the discount upfront in what you pay. The $20 denomination is a killer though - incredibly tedious.

        • Not just tedious but they make you feel like an idiot. I have a pile of scam flyers.

I just simply refuse them, and tell them I am here for the discount. :-)

What annoys me the most are those idiot attendants who think they feel the need to date your Apple GCs even if you repeatedly tell them that Apple GCs do not expire.

If you have a kid (or know someone with a young kid) they may appreciate the Apple stickers. Mine loves them and that’s what kept me going back to buy more GCs every time there’s a promotion historically. Our IKEA Kallax shelves are covered in Apple stickers as a result.

Good strategy from Apple + Coles (not exactly sure who is footing the 15% discount) to use OzBargainers to cull their over supply of $20 GCs. :P
