Parking at Melbourne Museum Using PromoCode

Hi All,

I've been looking around for cheap parking around Melbourne and found that Melbourne Museum has two promo codes that offer $10 all day parking.

MVMEMBERS and IMAX

I assume that MVMEMBERS may be linked to Melbourne Museum membership where they can look up my details to see that I am not a member. However, IMAX doesn't seem to have any validation that I can think of.

Standard daily rate (enter before 10am and exit before midnight) is $14, so the membership will pay itself off in 15 visits ($59 for an adult).However, I will probably only be in 2 or 3 times a week for about a month and was wondering if it will be overdoing using the IMAX code for parking and raise flags. If this becomes a long term thing, I would become a member for convenience.

Just wanting thoughts on whether it's safe for me to go down this route, or just suck it up and pay for $14 daily rate.

      From what I see, that's the rate if you took a ticket from the machine upon entry and scanned your membership (or validated your IMAX ticket at the candy bar).

        I just tried booking as a museum member and it quoted me $24 for the day ??????

        Crappy website changed the dates.

        It shows $12 per day after applying the code

          Hmm, my bad. I just tried that code and it's coming up as $14 for me. I swear I saw that code somewhere before offering a flat rate of $10.
          But IMAX is still showing $10

            @Hello Stranger: They probably put up the prices for 2023 and forgot to tell members.

            The code makes no difference to the cost. It's $12 whether I enter the code or not.

              @jv: Probably true since everything is going up these days. I'm not a member so don't really want to use that code in case they do check and figure I'm not a member.
              More interested on whether I should be abusing the IMAX code or let it be.

            $12 parking at Melbourne Museum car park all day every day - scan your membership card (or your temporary membership PDF on your phone) on exit at the closest pay station or pre-book your carpark here.

            Doesn't look like there's a discount anymore for pre-booking.

    As at end May 2023, the code IMAX reduces parking from $21 to $12. This was for a weekday entering mid morning.

    As at mid August 2023, the code IMAX reduces parking from $15 to $13. This was for a Weekend parking.

    Thanks for the posting, bought an IMAX ticket (together with museum ticket), not even realised that you can get a cheaper carpark ticket from them.

    But, thanks to this post, I can save $2 for all day parking!
