Selling My PC - Help Me Set The Right Price

I'm finally upgrading my system and wanted to make sure I sell my current system at the right price so I don't rip anyone off.

Can you guys suggest a good selling price for the following system -

Intel Core i5 6600K
ASRock Z170 Gaming K4
Corsair 2 x 8GB DDR4
Samsung SSD 750 EVO 250GB
ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
750W Plus 80 Gold PSU
NZXT H510 Mid Tower Case - Matte Black & Red

My new system specs - Getting it from Techfast (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/753112)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6 core 12 thread processor
RTX 3080 10GB
MSI MAG FORGE Case
Gigabyte B550 Gaming X motherboard
16GB 3200MHz (Kingston, XPG and PNY in use)
1TB M.2 NVMe SSD
750W Plus 80 Gold PSU

Thank you!

so I don't rip anyone off.

Said no one selling something ever.

  • You would get lot more value selling in parts, you cant really expect to get a decent price with recent techfast/bpc deals. Thats just my personal opinion.

  • Those are eight year old parts. It surely isn't worth much.

Assuming this is not a thinly-veiled sale post fishing for offers/pm:
    1. Set it as the price you’re happy to part with.
    2. Reduce it until it sells.
    3. ???
    4. Profit?

Def not trying to get offers. Prob put the PC up on Facebook Shop :)

I hate it when the price for a product is way higher than it should be. So I'd rather give a price that seems reasonable and the person buying it feels happy with his purchase :)

    1070 worth around $150

Probably lucky to get $400 for the lot ;)

I haven't been following this stuff to closely but I would ballpark $400-$500

  • 350$ is fair considering the cpu is 6th gen and the graphic card is still in the 10s series

Sounds like Tree Fiddy is the market price.

  • I think between $300 to $350 should be an easy sale.

  • Around $250 to low $300's depending if you split it or sell whole.

Vid card most valuable single component - $120 - $150 - rest is all like $20-$40 ea

Well given the range of responses, I would think about listing it for $500, and knocking money off until someone buys it. Remember, on Marketplace/Gumtree most people will only be happy to pay less than the asking price, so listing for $500 means you're really looking for $350-400 which seems reasonable.

    • Excellent advice! Thanks so much

  • The old case might actually be better than the Techfast one.

    I’d say $400-$500.

Why not check out Gumtree/ fbm for your area and set price accordingly…
