Cheapest Way to Buy Miele Products?

Pretty much per the heading - I'm interested to know how I'll get the best deal on a Miele product. All retailers supplying Miele have the same asking prices and (rare) offers so they must be set by Miele. So how to get a better deal? Just eg gift cards at HN, or do the retailers negotiate if you ask them to, or what?

    there's miele outlets https://www.miele.com.au/domestic/clearance-outlet-3026.htm
but from what i recall, there's basically no discount or negotiation on miele products. I remember it used to be cheaper to import from Europe (used to be a huge thread on whirlpool)

    • Yeah this if you're close enough and can get there in person during their limited opening hours to inspect, purchase and then pick up.

    • Helpful, thanks, I wasn’t aware of the outlets

      • What product are you looking for? I have ten Miele products and never pay list price for anything - but I reckon there's a different strategy for each product line.

        • Under-bench dishwasher. Current Miele is having conniptions

          • @dwarves: For DW, I'd only get a new model; the older ones have design flaws and they fail inside 15 years. Select the model you need (I replaced last year, semi-integrated XXL) and call the outlet to see if they have any. They'll give you an idea as to how often they come into stock. Put your name on the wait list, but try to find time to visit the store periodically. The exact model I needed was on-hand, had just come into stock and seems they weren't especially proactive about checking the customer list. I was able to improvise to keep my old one running - it had a leaking pump but Miele quoted >$1K repair as they said there were lots of other components that needed replacing.

            • @sumyungguy: Good intel, thanks. I have a G4930 at the moment and coincidentally the outlet has one for $1000, so I was thinking about getting it. But sounds like I should just spring for a newer one

Price are set by manufacturer, once in a while they do have sales/promotions.

do the retailers negotiate if you ask them to, or what?

Try find out, who knows, they would throw some free dishwasher liquid.

  • If you are planning on buying a lot of stuff then speak to a Miele rep. Find one through your local Miele service centre. It's good to know a rep anyway if you have problems with anything you buy. If you're a good Miele customer they will go out of their way to help you, they'll personally deliver things to your house, and overall act like a friend more than a salesperson. They aren't a friend because you're spending thousands on products that they get a cut of, but they really will go out of their way for you if you buy lots of stuff.

Miele operates on an agency basis, like car makers are moving towards.
If for example you buy at a HN store, HN act as an agent for Miele and give you a sales note on Miele stationery.
If you buy direct from Miele they will, (or used to), internally book the sale and commission to the nearest authorised seller to where you are located.
Best chance of getting any form or discount is to buy another product from the retailer and ask for a suitable discount be applied to that item.

    • Exactly same goes for the GG so fat chance of getting a saving

    • Thanks @Ocker
