How to set price alerts for airfares on aggregate sites? I can't seem to do it atm?

I've tried looking on a few different flight checkers/comparison sites, but can't find where to put price alerts (I have done it in the past) am I just blind, or is the option not there atm? Tried Skyscanner, Kayak and Google Flights…looked at instruction info on internet, but I can't see those options. I signed into accounts just in case that was the issue….am I going mad? I have to fly to Europe in Sept for my son's wedding (his fiance is Spanish) Flying into London and coming back from Madrid, and atm flights are so $$$$….over $2500 each return is pretty high (1 stop each way). I have even signed up to lots of airlines to see if they will send me sale info to get a heads up. ATM most airline's sales travel dates end Aug, so, I am hoping there might be some sales for Sept soon…
thanks

  • Hi,

I looked at early September for you and SYD-ICN-LHR via Asiana, looks good.
For a late September return (possibly 2 stops) MAD-LHR-SYD on BA is OK.

Assuming you have a mobile phone, try downloading the App:
    https://hopper.com/

Bonus Tip: Use a Hopper Referral Code from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/hopper.com

I like the "Traffic Light" interface, can look ahead at Monthly Blocks Green (is good) Yellow is Higher, Red (is just No!"
Price alerts/trends can be seen within the App and set alerts to go to your E-mail.
You don't have to book via Hopper.com, just use the info and book direct if you prefer.

Otherwise https://matrix.itasoftware.com using Multi-City allows to look at Flying into LHR and out of MAD.
You can't book via Matrix/ITA, but you can Copy Paste the data to https://bookwithmatrix.com (but i haven't done).

    I also look at https://skiplagged.com/ and Momondo.com

  • If you’re logged in to Google do the search then just below the filters is a little toggle to ‘Track Prices’

Tbh I’d look at Vietnam Airways into Paris

    • we were going to do our trip in a circular route…flying into London, stay there 3 nights, train to Edinburgh, stay there a couple of nights, fly to Germany, 2 nights, fly to Paris 2 nights, fly to Madrid (or Barcelona) and then staying Alicante etc and a few other places down south like Valencia, possibly Barcelona (if we didn't fly there from France) and back to Madrid and then back to Sydney. (My son's fiance is from Madrid, although she lives in Australia atm) We haven't worked out all the nitty gritty yet, but that is approx The only definite dates are Alicante (for the full family ceremony, staying in a 7 bedroom villa mid Sept) and another place close by after that

    • yes, I saw that in a search on how to do it, but when I logged in, did the search, no toggle showed up to be able to select to "Track Prices"

  • Google flights, then toggle "Track prices"

You can also try on Kayak.com

    • as mentioned when I logged into Google and did a flight search, the toggle for alerts was not showing for some reason.

      • are you logged in to your google account?

        • yes, the same thing with Skyscanner. even logged into my account, I couldn't find the alert symbol to do that either. I know I have set alerts on Skyscanner in the past

  • Alicante is a nice area in Spain. My parents live just up the coast in Calpe. I will be over there for a month in May & have found the high prices just seem to be the normal now. September is also coming off the end of the European summer holidays so prices are likely to remain the same or increase. Have a look at Veiling as they have some good deals around Europe for your shorthaul flights.

    • sorry, is that meant to be Vueling?

      • Hi. Sorry, it was meant to be Vueling. Air Nostrum is also good for domestic flights around Spain.
