    • Now all we need is a deal on the Pen15. That would make a great pair

  • +3

    Nostalgia rising.

  • +5

you will get ALL the chicks with this. Trust me bro

    • +9

Your source of "trust me bro" has won me over. Im convinced. Getting me one.

    • +3

I don’t know about all, but sum of them might lap it up

      • +2

to sum up, it will be added up

    • How many chicks will I get if I pull a Schwarzkopf then?

      • a lot of cooked chicks I would say

  • +4

Perfect. My wife was just saying she wants a new watch for her birthday.

    • +1

      Famous last words…

      • +3

Probably depends on how many of her buttons he pushes

  • +2

Good find Spoon, you should add all the colours to the title. They are negative display which some find harder to read.
    These have a resin lens.

Green Casio Calculator Watch (CA53WF-3B) Full Review

    • +1

I have the green on with a negative display. Useless at night but very cool none the less.

      • +1

        That’s what she said

      • i have the black one with the positive display, can confirm it is also pretty useless at night. Nonetheless, will try a mod i found online to add a colored tint to the display

        • Interesting. Can you share a link to the mod?

            • @pichxlonco: I did that Swatch book colour filter mod myself recently. It does make the display darker in indoor light though.

There is a Swatch book being sold on eBay AU by the way, seller is ccslightsound.

              • @harshbdmmaster718: Yeah, thought so, if the filter is too thick or not too transparent, it might make the numbers hard to see. Might need to try with a few different materials to see what works best.

Looked for the swatch book, but it's $15 + postage

Might be easier to repurpose some old food wrapping or kids toy hehehe, you only need like 4squared centimeters anyway

                • +1

@pichxlonco: Yeah but at least you get a tonne of colour options, maybe a few shades of each as well so you can go "lighter".

Anyway yeah you can use all kinds of things. One other common Casio colour filter mod linked to a "screen protector" for a few dollars, you can use the film that you peel off the protector which is blue tinted and scratch free.

  • I wonder what's quicker, typing 912 ÷ 43 = on these tiny buttons, or saying "Hey, Siri/Google/Alexa, what's 912 ÷ 43" ? But I totally get the retro factor.

“Here’s something on the web I found about dumb people who can’t do simple calculations in their head.”

  • This is legit a great watch and should be part of every collection.

    • +1

      Preferably the missing part

  • No solar, no deal.

    • +1

The back plate is very easy to remove so it's really not an issue.

    • I've had one for about 7 years and the battery is still going strong. The band however broke after about 3-4 years. Ended up getting a knock off band from Aliexpress as I couldn't justify $25 for an original one.

  • I think I went back in time is this 1984?

    • warning: the time machine function hasn't been tested yet in this watch.

  • Which colour is cool 😎

    • +1

Depends if you don't want negative display then your only option is black.
Always buy what you like, not what others like.

  • Looks like a pricing error. Prices just got updated.

    • +2

DJ's is one of those sites that changes the prices back when it goes out of stock.

I think they want to "hide" their clearance prices.

  • Classic black or the green on a nato gents?

These are $39 every day on Amazon. So if you really need one…

Just yesterday I got $5 from Amazon for Listening to one song on Amazon Music. I think you need to be a Prime member for that. So you can drop the watch down to $34 :-)

  • +2

Bought one of these a while back from eBay - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/370786315096

$40 with free postage which might be better than DJs depending on how much they charge for postage.

I wear it everyday as it takes me back to when my Dad brought one back from Singapore for me in the 90s.

  • I remember having the stainless steel version.
    Ahhh those days

    • Me too. Except those days were a few weeks ago.

Stoked with it. Haven't really needed to use the calculator yet but it's just a novelty.

  • Dwight Shrute selling his?

    • Marty Mcfly circa 1985

  • +2

It's $39 with free delivery with a prime subscription on Amazon https://amzn.asia/d/9jeibpV

  • Weren't they this price in 1980?

    • +2

Camel doesn't go back that far.

  • Imagine picking this one up at David Jones. You get a cool watch for $35 and you get to look like you've spent more.

    • Easy now Warwick Capper. You don't go pulling all the chicks with that move.

  • +1

Good watch for splitting the bill on a date

    • Bad watch for getting a date

      • you sure? i would totally date a guy with a calculator watch - he who isn't afraid to fly his nerdy flag

  • What are people actually calculating???

    • +2

How many times the earth can spin around the sun leading to our death and extinction.

      • That went dark real fast.
