Does this mean it can charge a laptop at the same time? If so anyone know what wattage? Eg. 65W

Does it do video/audio over USB-C?

edit: going by previous deals nope it doesn't.

    • +1

      No, it doesn’t have a USB-C port

    • 2A max so for phones or something

Amazing monitor. Make sure to use the rtings calibration and suggested settings, makes the colours so much more accurate.

I’ve had this monitor for a couple of months now. It’s pretty good, but the one thing that kept annoying me were the colours. Thank you very much for the tip.

    • How do you apply the profile in windows? I’ve tried the methods online but I can’t see a difference

      • +1

I didn't use the profile but I changed all the settings on the monitor itself to match.

    • I must be blind, which part of the page has the suggested settings and calibration?

      • Under Colour Accuracy there is a pre-calibration and post-calibration results (see the settings under post calibration)

  • Wow good price! Bought xiaomi curved widescreen like this for 450 couple years ago

  • Regardless of the electricity bill, it's a good monitor!

  • Dang not targeted in the amex deal - woulda pulled the trigger. Good stack if you can get

  • This or the xiaomi one?

100% this one. Far better and newer tech

      Less spyware in this one

Own one, use it daily for work purposes, love this screen.

    • Oh more information on work use please
How do you find for display of internet, word/docs and similar desktop apps
DO you arrange 2 wide, 3 wide etc
THis is my use case so advice appreciated

      • Excel spreadsheets, SSMS, multiple docs (I use powertoys for the screen splits), A LOT of browsers.

Love it - Resolution is decent, the curvature allows me to scan the entire screen without too much head movement. I found that for me it is a better experience than having 2 small monitors

        • perfect- thanks

      • I agree. I use this for work and love it too. My setup is to try and create three screens, so I split the Dell between windows and I have my laptop as the third screen.

Configuration wise on the Dell, I use the left third for my collaboration tool (zoom chat) or email, and the right two-thirds for my browser.

For ease of use, I find the Logitech MX Master 3 mouse and Magnet app are awesome. With all the extra buttons on the mouse, I program them to snap windows in certain configurations.

Pulled the trigger! So happy I didn’t leap at the Xiaomi offer a few days ago as I’ve been hoping for this monitor! $525 is a great price! Coming from a 60hz 27inch 5ms response panel I’m expecting it to be a big step up!

  • +1

Finally pulled the trigger for this one, had my eyes on it for a while. I was hoping for a newer model since this is about 2 years old but still is kicking and has excellent reviews.
Thanks for the stacked coupon thingy too O.P!

Remember to buy a display port to USB C cable to get the proper resolution.

    • I’ve just received mine, seems to display fine at 1440p with the display port, just wondering why the USB C would be required? Or am I looking at 1080p and not realising?

      • My laptop didn’t have the DP to DP that’s why I had to use the USB C. Sorry for the confusion!

I had to scour the internet to find the right colour settings as I personally didn’t like it out of the box. Plenty of info on Google or I can send you what I am using in the office later

I'll wait for a USB C monitor deal

Thanks OP, I was also patiently waiting for this one to go on sale again!

Also 1.5% / AUD 7.89 cashback via both Cashrewards or ShopBack fyi for those without Amex

  • While I'm hearing this is a great monitor generally and for gaming, any review for photo/video editing (not professional, mid-level)? Have always heard IPS is better, just not sure how much of a difference this VA panel will be…

    • It’s rated 7.7 / 10 for media creation on rtings

    • Unless you're photo editing the monitor is great for pretty much every use-case. Colours are still vibrant, but you get drop off because of the VA viewing angles. It is different, but it's not terrible once you calibrate it.

    • Huh I thought the DWG was used for their IPS / 144hz gaming monitors.

How come it's a VA panel??

    • I've been using this monitor for 2 years. Great for gaming. I found it very average for photo editing (semi-professional). I ended up getting an IPS screen and run dual monitor. This one for games. IPS for photo work.

  • Where does one rent a k-12 coupon?

    • Why do you need to rent? Just click on the links provided and go from there

      • I thought you need a .edu email or a student ID.

    • I've got a spare if you need, I tried to activate it but it came too slowly for my rush to buy it

      • Thank you for the kind offer. "Just be warned the coupon can only be used once, so make sure you’ve fully considered your purchase before making it." I'm still sitting on the fence. My U3011 is still going strong. The only reason to replace it is it gets really hot, presumably a newer model will save a bit of insanity in summer and electricity. Either get a new one or get a fan…

        • +1

Yep it says you can generate one code per day, so happy to share what I got.

I didn't use a edu email, but I did use my old uni email from cqu and it worked (@cqumail.com)

  • Anyone bothering with the extra warranty on this monitor?

    • Did not bought one… I have a Dell U2412M that I bought I think 11 years ago and still working fine up to now. I hope this one will last atleast 5 years or more as well.

  • Thanks OP, order completed!

  • Can you dual window with this screen natively?

  • Any issues with G-Sync / Nvidia cards?

    • I'm using Nvidia card cGTX1660 series and it's working fine at 120Hz.

  • Anyone having trouble with max resolution? Mine just shows a maximum of 1920x1080 through HDMI for 2 different laptops and HDMI cables. Both machines (and cables) work fine with another LG ultrawide.

    • Try the display port cable.

  • My son is also named…

  • I'm considering this monitor and LG 34WP65C-B (both almost the same price) for my home office setup. Could someone help me choose one please. The main plus I see with Dell model over the LG one is brightness 300 nits but 400. The LG one looks cleaner to me.
