$50 shipping kills the deal for me on this one (without additional coupon codes, if anyone knows any that work with this deal, please share)
I think another recent deal was $150 off with free shipping, this deal works out to $200 off plus shipping on their more affordable desks.

This is a good deal - in fact very good. I recently purchased a Desky desk and the delivery was late (tracking seemed fake) plus they also sent out wrong parts. Apparently their website reviews are all staged with the negative ones never published on the Desky website. Price was $600 more than the equivalent here. One look at the reviews on Product Reviews website, and you’ll stay away from Desky too. Wish I had read them prior to my purchase. Good bye Desky. Omni are worth a try plus they at least have a physical store whereas Desky could be run from a backyard for all we know (and probably are).

  dunno whether 53 days to get a desk qualifies as a good delivery. ordered omnidesk in Nov got it Jan.

  I ordered a Desky Desk and it took 5 different desks before they got it right. That resulted in many months of delays and so much effort on my own part to organise all the returns. (That can't of been cheap for them considering I live in southern Tasmania).
  I should have learned my lesson there! But… I ordered a monitor riser off of them and yet again, the wrong part was sent. I had to provide photo proof (again, for like the 6th time now) of the wrong part and then they made me organise returning the wrong part. I'm pretty sure the wrong part was worth less than what it cost them to raise a return shipment of the part.
  Nice bunch of staff, but totally incompetent!

Why this over any other cheaper brand ? Also, how would this compare with something like the IKEA model ?

  Real wood versus fake. Also the controller on Omni is much better. I have an IKEA in my home too and it’s sturdy but desk looks cheap. Also IKEA had no decent cable organiser attachment but can be bought from third parties perhaps. You get what you pay for. IKEA edition is not bad for the price, but not for me personally as money is not an issue.
