< The burgers are BETTER at Carl's.

Tbh, any burgers are better than McCrappy burgers.
When did we deEvolve to feel that McCrappy tasting burgers were the god, standard anyway. Lol

    • +6

Have been to two separate Carl's. Both times they seemed like a weaker version of Hungry Jacks.
Service was also surprisingly slow at both separate restaurants, especially as it did not seem very busy.

      • +1

Yes. Still better that Crap Donald's tbh

    • -1

As bland as mcd's is, it's consistently bland. Their entire thing is consistency.

      • I have a constant poop every day.
        Still wouldn't call it food.

    • +3

i didn't see anyone mention McAnything before you so clearly you think they're the god standard.
when did we deEvolve to feel that being a fast food elitist makes you look evolved? Lol.

      • -1

        god standard.

Kinda sums up the rest of your attempt to sound clever here.

  • +7

Carls Jnr need to open stores in the Brisbane metro area (ie within reasonable proximity). Having outlets at the airport and out in the fringes is useless.

    • +2

I live in Geelong and have two stores within 5 mins drive. The world is a funny place.

      • +1

The closest Carls Jnr to Armstrong Creek in Geelong is Williams Landing in Melbourne, 70km away. You must drive real quick.

        • +4

You are right. I now live near Armstrong Creek, just moved here from Point Cook which is near Williams Landing. I had a pre-caffeinated brain moment where I somewhat blended the two places together. Fun. Good catch, was hoping you wouldn't. :)

        • He hyperDRIVEs

    • +1

Same goes for Sydney, the 2 we have are out in the sticks, waaay out.

      • +2

Honestly, what is with their business strategy?

        It makes no sense!

        • Presumably where the rent is cheap.

          • @Clear: Yet they have stores in airports. 🤦‍♂️

  • Finally tried it a few weeks ago despite me joking about refusing to until msjb gave me a gift card to do so.

I got the cali combo that came with shake and waffle fries, it was ok for the price of $7.95. I haven’t eaten hungry jacks or McDonald in many years so can’t compare them. Doubt I would go back anytime soon, probably not a good reviewer since I don’t eat much fast food.

    • -1

until msjb gave me a gift card to do so

So msjb is indeed an employee/associated with Carl's Jr?

      • +1

No, that was part of the joke.

  • +2

Local burger places are still better but at least Carl's Jr has actual sized burgers rather than the wilted slop Maccas and HJ serve now.

Would recommend both feasters box as long as expectations are right. For the price its worth it.

Good local burger joint > Carl's Jr > Maccas

  • +3

Comparing it to the other major Drive Thru's, Carls is up there for me.
But their app is horrendous. I honestly can't comprehend how these companies manage to create apps that feel like 1st year uni projects that failed.

    • +3

Hot tip: Creating good apps is harder and more costly than you think

      • Yeah, have some understanding. It's not like huge rich international establishments can just sit down and learn to make an app overnight. Or over the last 10 years.

  • +2

I do like their super star with cheese. also their chips have always been fresh, never had an issue myself

  • +2

I hadn’t been to Carls Jr in a few years but moved near one. I paid $18 for a small meal 😳 I think I’ll use the app from now on. Thanks.

  • I had the chicken burger there once, and it was very bland.

    • +1

Same - I thought the Maccas ones were better quality and taste, and a lot cheaper!

  • Is it just me? I don’t seem to be able to order the set on offer.

I'm able to redeem the offers but not sure how to order..

    • You just show up and ask for it.
You can’t order in the app.

      • Thats odd, the fact that they are App only offers but on the App you can order anything but these app only offer items

  • +1

excellent marketing by Carls Jr not listing what is actually in the feasters boxes anywhere. is the chicken burger chicken breast or chicken nugget? is the mayo flavored or plain?

    • +1

Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight despite it.

    • The chicken burger looks way different to the pic in advertising. Avoid disapointment. Or come back here to compare notes. Either way it aint what you get.

  • +1

Love me some cj and didn't know the app existed. Thank you op.

  • I'm a fan and was happy to see these deals are a step up on their recent deals. But I drove 15 mins to get one of these deals for lunch only for them to say they're "…holding off on starting these deals". Despite my protests they wouldn't honour it. :(
I've looked at the conditions on the deals and it says that the offer may be revoked at any time without notice.

  • The burgers are good, but the sides are always cold, oil-logged and soggy.

    • My local, burgers are cold too. You must have the gooder stote. :-)

  • +1

I just moved from Rural NSW to Sydney for the first time in 20 years yesterday. I know what I'm eating tomorrow. Cheers OP

  • +1

when's this thing coming to ACT :(

  • +3

The feasters box is a disappointment. I ate the chicken burger thing and it's just a reconstituted chicken nugget like thing( quite awful unless you are a 3 year I'm guessing ) on their menu it's called a value chicken patty.
Hope next months deal is better, good for my waistline that nothing I like has a deal this month.
the single california classic listed in description was last months offer and unfortunately expired this month.

  • Tried to redeem at Brisbane airport on Friday to be told they don't honour app deals.
Has anyone had luck at the Eagleby one on the way to gold coast?
