Reynella Basket Pressed Shiraz 2017 6 Pack – $160.02 Delivered ($26.67 / Bottle) @ Cellar One (Free Membership Required)

160

Cellar One have got this lovely red on sale again– unfortunately $1.67 more expensive per bottle than last time but still a steal if you ask me. The cheapest comparable deal I can find is on Vivino for $29.99 / Bottle but even then you have to buy minimum 12. Everywhere else is substantially more expensive (around $60). If you like bold reds and you have never had this, do yourself a favour and buy some. Use referral system if you don't have an account.

Description from Cellar One website:
This Classic McLaren Vale Shiraz boasts a boquet of chocolate and blueberry fruits, complemented by cedary oak with nuances of black olive, forest floor and polished leather

A powerful palate, with layers of blue & plum fruit flesh with generous oak sweetness and a powerful tannin structure to complement the dense fruit profile. Luxurious palate depth and generosity, representative of old vine McLaren Vale Shiraz and an outstanding vintage

GOLD MEDAL 2019 - Adelaide Royal Wine Show

92 POINTS - Andrew Caillard "Deep crimson. Developed blackberry, brambly aromas with graphite, tobacco leaf, cola dust notes. Sturdy and compact with fresh blackberry, mulberry, black olive tapenade flavours, fresh inky density, fine al-dente/ grippy tannins, a touch of mocha and underlying linear quartz-like acidity. Finishes firm and tight. Structure dominates the fruit. 14.5% alc Drink now – 2030"

Fantastic drop! Got a 6 pack last week. Used some cellar points to bring it down to $20 per bottle. Bargain!

Langtons were selling this for $22 per bottle with no case purchase requirement.

It's been $20 before, but it wont again.

Most wines have gone up 10%, some 20% in the last 12 months.

Prices rarely change at the wholesale level without a vintage change.
Price hikes are done as wines roll vintage. This is for a number of reasons but mainly cost of production per vintage. Volume purchasing has the largest impact on LUC variation for the same product within the same vintage at the retail level.
It's entirely possible to see the lower price again, assuming there is enough volume to be purchased buy a retailer at a commensurate discount.

    • Sounds like a great deal, wish I had have known about it while they were in stock.

  • Its been this price for the last few months, and still worth every cent.

Even at $60 per bottle its still decent. At sub 30 its a steal.

It also makes a great present. People will google how much it is and think that you paid $60

  • Reynella, McLaren Vale. They can't make up their mind
