I bought a Xiaomi electric screw driver from Hekka in April of last year. It's faulty and I've sent a video showin the issue. I find it very cheeky that they offer a 60% refund and not a full refund/replacement. Is there a way to keep these crooks honest? Some sort of buyer protection?
It's not the money that I care about losing but rather the arrogant attitude and the statement that 'I've had it for a while and you've use it a lot'. No idea how they determined that.
I think technically if you are selling to Australian consumers you do have obligations under the ACL. But it would be extremely hard to enforce.

So what you're really trying to say to the OP is take the 60% refund and run before they change their mind.
Unfortunately the risk taken when dealing with overseas sellers. At least it was like $20, not $2000
Create a forum post and label them cheeky crooked grubs… they might make a special exception just for you…
If you want buyer protection, stick with ebay or Amazon.
You can charge back if you paid by credit card.
60% refund a YEAR later is pretty god damn good for OS retailer.
They prob get the same deal from xaomi
Where is the wording of this warranty you state they are refusing?
That's a pro-rata refund for the time you used it, legal In Aus
I suppose I'm just use to 12 month warranties, however upon reflection, I guess the rest of the world doesn’t necessarily conform with this.

im still dealing with them after 8mths on a tablet that broke after 4months of use…Its now going on for twice as long as we have used the product.
Guess when your product is worth $20 only they are more than happy to provide some money back

You're lucky to get 60% refund, let alone any reply at all.
