    Esp in western Sydney. Everything apparently "In stock" never is because the shelves get raided like it's an apocalypse. And that's just on Monday.

    Plus, the staff (generally) dgaf, so stock isn't updated anywhere. I did have one good staff member last week actually try to help me find something apparently in stock.

      I work in a comparable company and the rule is: call up a store, ask them to manually check if they have it in stock AND ask for it to be put on hold (24 hrs is the limit). The online availability is only a rough guess cause mistakes happen

        That’s fair enough - mistakes happen and stock goes missing - but as other guy said in kmart when it’s wrong they don’t care and just leave it incorrectly showing stock in the system.

          @DingoBlue: I can't speak for Kmart but my understanding is that it's next to impossible to have a completely accurate stock count because it changes so often. That's why asking for a manual check and hold is the best way. Even if the staff don't care, they will if you yell at them - fear of being told off by a customer/manager makes things happen

    2nd that. Ordered some item online and never processed.
    I walked in , saw at least a dozen in stock and same time an email arrived saying they are oos while literally I am looking at least 10 in front of me!
