First post! Was looking for a monitor to daisy-chain with my P2419H and stumbled across this. Perfect for those looking to connect everything (power, data, video and audio) with a single USB-C cable. Be wary that that the screen's brightness looks poor on paper…though I've got the P2419H and it's perfectly fine for indoor use (sunlight glare can be annoying if it's positioned against a window though).

If only the resolution wasn't so low by today's standards

1080p is fine for a 24" screen for general use, I wouldn't bother going higher without going to a 27" screen

      • +1

        My general rule for resolution is <24" = 1080p, 24-32" = 1440p, 32"+ = 4k (but 1440 still pretty good if can't get 4k)

Maybe your standards are too high.

For $132, you can't be picky. This is a USB-C IPS monitor for cheaper than you can find most standard monitors for.

Your time as Prince Hairy clearly has spoilt your standards.

Thanks OP, grabbed one. I'm going to get a dual monitor arm and stick it next to my gaming monitor, and use it exclusively for my low power tablet when I want to do low power computing.

Anyone have experience using these refurbished electronics? Are these used monitors from offices or from Dell directly?

    • These are from offices

Thanks OP. Not sure about seller or what condition these come in but it's a great buy for a basic setup at home. Been wanting to set up a station where kids/guests can plug their laptops in with USB-C connection and this fits the "need". Grabbed one.

Listing says "Screen in Mint condition" with "Minor scrathes on the exterior Plastic"…fingers crossed they're good as I also got one :)

Thanks. Yea sorry I've seen some where they say "mint" and it really isn't. Trusting the feedback record though. Gluck haha.

Thanks, was thinking about it but the resolution is too low these days.

    grabbed one, thanks OP.

    • How does the daisy chaining work? If I buy 3 monitors, can I use a normal power cable for the middle one and then power the other two by simply connecting them to the middle one by USB cables?

Edit: looks to be out of stock though, I thought they were back :(

Edit: spec seems to mention daisy chaining using display port. So I still need to connect power to all of them then I guess, and the daisy chaining is just for the display cable? I'm a bit confused. Would be great to get an answer if it comes back in stock.

        Hey fruxo,

For a 3-monitor set-up, your best bet would be to get 2 x P2419HC and 1 x P2419H or 3 x P2419HC. The P2419H does NOT have a DP out port, so it can only be used as the last monitor in the "chain". In terms of how you'd connect them:

PC/Laptop (DP out or data-/power-/video-enabled USB Type-C) ~ (DP in or USB Type-C) P2419HC (DP out) ~ (DP in) P2419HC (DP out) ~ (DP in) P2419H/P2419HC

Note: The italics refer to the ports on each device, and ~ refers to a cable. (Port 1) ~ (Port 2) means that Port 1 should be connected to Port 2 via the suitable cable.

So cable-wise, you'll need either 3 x DP cables, or 1 x data-/power-/video-enabled USB-C cable and 2 x DP cables. And yes, each monitor will need to be connected to power via its own power supply. Also, DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (MST) needs to be enabled in your P2419HCs' settings menu. Hope that helps!

Thank you, sorry for the ramblings, I was doing some research afterwards which cleared things up. Shame you can't daisy chain over USB and share power, that would have been fantastic :)

Edit: I'm just going to buy 3 of these ones (if they come back in stock at the same price)

          • @fruxo: No problem, hope you find what you're after :)
