    Its a nice sentiment but JB Hi Fi is hardly a local store. Gift cards might make it more worthwhile though as you said

      Most OzB's also have discounted Amazon GCs (& promo credits). You can get anywhere from 2%-4% to 6.25, even 10% if you stock up on them.

      CR's TrueRewards $30/50 promos are at least 10% cashback, SB does similar occasionally, the others are Prezzee and other platforms.

      Having said all that, I'm not necessarily inclined to go amazon instead of JB for something like this. I just see the GC argument as flawed.

      Out of interest, what makes JB not a local store? They are listed on the ASX. Is the major shareholder foreign?

      JB HIFI, employs over 7k. JB HiFi paid 222 million tax in 2021 on revenue of 6.35billion and profit of 720 million.
      Amazon employs over 3.5K across its various businesses in Aus. 18.3 million tax on 1.8 Billion on revenue.

      Amazon are no longer price leaders. Should reward the price leader not the follower. Amazon do bring competition which does drive prices down.

    xbox has better interface and performance

    ps5 has some real cool games

    I prefer xbox ecosystem, got series X and not looking back. cheaper than PS5 and has awesome design, too

    In theory the XSX could have better visuals. It's GPU is more powerful and has a few hardware tricks that the PS5 doesn't. But its not really worth most 3rd party developers time to improve the XSX visuals. Generally games using dynamic resolutions, the XSX will maintain a higher resolution than the PS5. But unless you are looking at a frame to frame comparison zoomed in, you would never notice any difference playing the game.
