PlayStation 5 (Slim) Digital Console on EB Games eBay $529 + $9.95 Postage (or $0 for Click and Collect) using the coupon code. Slightly cheaper than Target.

If you prefer disc version: PlayStation 5 (Slim) Disc Console + NBA 2K26. If you have eBay Plus, make sure you use PLUSAVE code. No click and collect for the disc console + the game bundle.

Digital Disc Drive + NBA2K6
Postage eBay: OCTSAVE $538.95 $678.95
Click and Collect eBay: OCTSAVE $529 N/A
Postage eBay Plus: PLUSAVE $538.95 $658.95
Click and Collect eBay Plus: PLUSAVE $529 N/A

Listings indicate these are the 1TB SSD version (older stock, new stock reduces the internal SSD size).

Cheapest disc drive is $109 from Target. JB probably willing to price match. EB Games stores most likely won't.

You could buy a discounted gift card to save a bit more. Not all time low. I think the all time low is $500 and there were $519 deals in the past.

Waiting for ps6 in 2028 now

3 years is a long time to wait. And what's the bet that it isn't delayed and then when it's released you can't buy it any way because of the lack of stock due to scalpers buying out all the stock. Just remember the shenanigans during the PS5 launch how hard it was to even buy one. You're going to have a good time.

      • I have ps5 but don’t have good enough tv for pro. So I can wait 3 years to get both tv and ps.

      • The PS5 launched almost 6 months after COVID started and caused huge stock disruptions, that’s not the norm. I don’t expect when PS6 launches it will be as bad as PS5.

I was able to get a PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2020 without much drama did have to wait a bit but nothing dramatic.

    Digital? no thanks

You could buy this and then just buy the disc drive upgrade for an extra $124. That's then $662.95 total for a disc console.

Not as good as the $629 which i paid for the PS5 disc slim console i got during Black Friday last year.

It is technically possible to achieve $623 to get a disc console with this deal. You need a discount gift card (3% discount or more) + click and collect and don't buy that disc drive at RRP. It's a lot of hassle so the Black Friday deal was better for sure.

    • Digital can be really good if you utilise game share with your friends

Is this new or old stock?
Apparently, the new stock PS5 Slim digital has a matte finish instead of the glossy finish on old stock, and the storage is reduced to 825GB, same as the OG PS5, compared to the new 1TB storage.

    • It would be the Slim CFI-2000 model.

  • For the uninformed who want to play GTA 6 on release, are their any details if Pro will be a better experience for casual gamer? or no details yet, plan to wait for a better deal anyway

    • I dont think theres any details yet but interested to know also

I really hate that rockstar always waits a year or more for PC release, seems like a tactic just to get people to buy more copies

        • +2

Agreed. Early 2000s it made sense - chips/consoles and PCs were quite different - especially things like the cell processor on PS3.

But now? It's all the same bloody hardware! Just 'specialised' with hardware-level access for consoles. So I think there's something to be said for delaying PC releases to ensure smooth running/more compatibility and optimisation goals - due to wildly differing hardware/APIs etc… But other games/devs can do it - Rcokstar could too if they wanted to. We know they have the cash to throw at it…

    • Both trailers were recorded from a PS5 so one would expect that the PS5 Pro version would be even better than those visuals at least.

    • There has been nothing confirmed by Rockstar yet but I would bet that the Pro will run the game better than the Base model.
I am considering selling my launch PS5 that I don't use and waiting until GTA 6 releases to get a PS5 Pro.

Would prefer to just play it on PC but Rockstar doesn't work that way unfortunately - any other game I would wait patiently for a PC release but I won't for GTA.

It doesn't look as though click n collect is an option

    • Thanks for point it out. Not possible with the disc + NBA 2K26 version. That one appears to be online with postage only.
      Updated the description.

  • I’m yet to get a PS5. Now that Ghost of Yotei is out and GTA6 in the (far) horizon, I’m keen to get one.

I’m thinking of the Pro in the spirit of future proofing and getting a better TV that can make the most out of it in the future.

Should I go for the PS5 or the PS5 pro? Price difference is huge.

    • +1

Every game is going to support the PS5 base. The PS5 Pro is under 5% of total PS5 sales, so no developer is going to specifically target the pro.

As a result, in some games there will be a small benefit in having a pro, but in most games there isn't.

If you have a lot of disposable income and savings and want to treat yourself, go for the pro. But for the majority of people the PS5 base is the right decision.

  • Will EB Games stores match this online deal in terms of pricing?

  • $549 for digital slim with black ops 6 too https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/ps5/330751-playstation-5-…

    • Did you get one before it is OOS?
