they do overheat a bit, mine is a few years old,kids won it in a reverse auction type thing so not your typical fanboy :)
I was gonna say the same thing.
Apple cares about user experience. People don't care about whether it gets hot, as long as it lasts and functions properly, however, people do care about annoying and loud PC fans.
You would think for a overpriced laptop that is considered as a technology innovation by apple fanboys boy would not overheat to much and need a cooling pad.

Good product. Have had mine for over a year and use with my HP Laptop. It definitely helps keep the temperature lower(I use Coretemp to monitor) and it is more comfortable on the lap in a chair or in bed than using the laptop by itself. My HP is permanently plugged into it while at home.

The sound of the fans are pretty distinct on the two that I own :O could just be them though. Good product nonetheless :)
it seems pretty quiet compared to those cheap LED $10 fans, but i think over 1 year you will start to know the difference. great cheap model i highly recommend
