Samsung Galaxy Watch5 44mm (No Wrist Straps) $340 When You Pre-Order a Galaxy S23 Ultra @ Samsung

110

Some people might hate it, but some will love it too! If you don't care about original Samsung watch straps and would like to get out of paying $59, there is a loophole that you can use.

PS: It's only worth it for people looking to utilise the $150/$250 credit when buying the new s23 series.

If you are looking to buy the watch5 for cash, there are other deals listed, the watch itself is for $340 there with straps.

Steps:

Add Phone and 'normal' watch 5 to the cart. At the bottom, you will see the Frequently Bought Together section. Keep refreshing until you see one of the watches with no straps (screenshots attached). Add this watch and remove the one with straps.

Credit to @rski An easier way, one you add the watch to your cart you will see it shown with the band as a separate item. You can just click on the watch in your cart and it will take you a page of just the watch. Add that one to your cart and remove the old watch/band product. Can confirm this works in the gov EPP store.

Example:
I wanted a Watch5 44cm Bluetooth - I added the one for $399, and found the one without straps for $340.
Received a $250 credit, so eventually only paid $90 for the watch.

Can confirm it has already been delivered, and there were no straps in it.

  • I haven't done the sums - but just as an FYI the watch is free if ordering from Telstra

    • It's for ordering directly via Samaung. Will work for people who wish to get Trade in discount and may or may not return their phone.

  • Can't you link us directly to the watch without strap?

    • There is no link to it. Tried a few times. When you click on it, takes you to the standard page.

    • How do you wear a watch without a strap?

So what's the actual deal here?

    • +1

Not a deal, but a hack that saves $59 if you don't want straps to be tagged along.

      • Ah okay, that's what I thought but it's at regular price for the strapless one, so I thought I'd check.

        • There is no easy way to not get straps.

    I wanted a Watch5 44cm Bluetooth

    That's a huge watch

    • Designed by Flavor Flav.

      That's what she said

    Whats next. BYO battery

Life is all about BYOs, first we had wine at dumpling spots and not this.

lol this is getting worse…first no charger, now no straps…

    • +1

well its not advertised as you are suggesting, its just a loophole OP has found which is handy for those who already have straps and just looking to upgrade the watch

    • You will be glad to know, this does come with a charger

  • watch5 44mm is $329 if you have JB Perks code, with straps

      Fully aware, check the description.

    • This is mostly for the folks who are interested in pre-ordering the S23 Ultra (at full price). They are given a $250 voucher which partially covers the cost of the Watch5.

      • yeah

    • Only thing I want with straps is dem reeboks

    • Yup that's another way!!

      • It's best to ensure you select a different band colour, i.e graphite watch and a purple band. If you choose a graphite watch and a graphite band it doesn't show them separately in the cart.

  • Saw this suggested on my cart. I thought it was an error. Figured the different SKU is for the watch face only and no strap.

  • Thanks mate, exactly what I needed!

Does anyone have any recommendations on after market straps or cases/bumpers?

    • Been getting off eBay tbh. Cant tell much difference

  • I don't recommend getting after market straps, i have some and the quality of the rubber is just different. The original Samsung is more soft than any after market strap.

  • Gotta buy your own straps!? Pfffft

Thats a new level of tight.. no straps with a Bloody watch. I thought not getting a phone charger with a phone was bad.

It's like buying a new car with no wheels lmao!
Seriously, how much are wrist straps?… for them, maybe $0.50?? It's a very stupid con (pros-cons) to a deal.

      • $59 for the buyer. So doesn't matter what it costed to the seller.

        • Yeah but how many watches have you bought that didn't come with straps and have to pay a fortune to get? (Pocket watch exluded lol). It's a cheap made item from China that costs nothing. They could at least provide straps. Stupid as!!…. a strapless watch

          • @teddiebear: The point is not what they can provide. It's about what the buyer can save if they have the option.

I already have a couple of very expensive straps, 3rd party and I didn't need to spend $59 on silicone straps.

            • @abs898: It's got nothing to do with what they can save. It's like saying "pre-order this and we'll give you a new car with no engine and wheels, because you can save money and you'll have to fill up the petrol tank yourself because you can save $0.02c a litre when the price changes".
You're not getting a full product. Spend $2000 on a phone and we'll give you a watch face. $2000 and can't give a wrist strap…. it's pathetic lol

              • @teddiebear: I still think you are missing out on what the deal is. It's a personal choice to order this one.

            • @abs898: any reasonable sellers/brands for these? My bro has a samsung voucher and is most likely getting a Samsung watch - tried to convince him on the FB Charge 5 (after his Charge 4 died - no brainer and $165, 7 days battery).

It is BS getting a watch that doesn't include the strap - should take them to the ACCC - it's not a watch without it.
You could wear it around your neck, or store in pocket lol.
Anyway all the Samsung fanboi's will still pay it.

              • @G-rig: Lol you can't really sue someone for something you aren't paying for. This SKU is $59 cheaper than the watch with straps which is the whole point to get it at the lowest price by using vouchers.

                • @abs898: Sue lol.. it's not America.

So how much by the time you buy the straps too… Sounds like it's not much of a deal unless the previous gen straps fit and you got heaps of them.

                  • @G-rig: They fit. It's not apple or Fitbit.

Hope you are able to stop your brother from buying Samsung.

                    • @abs898: Yeah was trying but can't tell him ha
Ran out and got a new s23 ultra on a Vodafone plan.

                      • @G-rig: What a rebel! I have started to like your brother

                        • @abs898: Yeah he's not the type to research stuff much and just grabs anything.

                          • @G-rig: Good on him for living life on the edge

                            • @abs898: Wouldn't say that.
Anyway you won't catch me buying one.

                              • @G-rig: I wouldn't either but it only costed me $90 so didn't think twice

                                • @abs898: Fair enough. Bit better than $340 without a strap LOL

                                  • @G-rig: Nah the mods changed my post's title. The whole point was that it will cost $90 with accessories voucher.

                                    • @abs898: The price is the price I guess, vouchers and credits don't exactly make it free etc

                                      • @G-rig: Then we might as well shut down ozb!

                                        • @abs898: So it was never $90.. why did the mod change the post. PS good if they did a dual phone and watch charger like apple.. wireless pretty slow anyway, and pointless if you dont get sleep data if it's charging every night.

                                          • @G-rig: They do have a dual charger

                                            • @abs898: Cool couldn't see it on the site, but just as well as you'll have to charge it everyday 🙄
