How Would You Market to MSPs (Managed Service Providers) ?

So work is quiet at moment, and I have been thinking about this for a while. And, so I thought to post the question up here. Why not eh?
I have a product/service that I know a lot of MSPs buy from overseas companies, as there is no provider for it in Australia.
Every MSP that is currently ordering from me has been via word of mouth or a lucky google search, and they all continue to order from me.
This was early access for these MSPs/Customers. But now I am about to launch it, and apart from a website and hoping they are searching for a new provider of this product; I am trying to figure out how to get in the door with new customers.
I was thinking of just calling around, but I don't want to come across as one of those annoying businesses that call asking if you are interested in blah blah blah.. I get a lot of those every week.
I was thinking of a letterbox drop, which may work if it gets into the right person's hands, but usually they dont.
Conferences can be good, but not many MSPs go to them, and you generally don't get in contact with the ones that do.
Does anyone have any ideas?

There are a few ways to market a product to Managed Service Providers (MSPs), including:

Trade shows and events: Participating in industry events and trade shows specifically for MSPs can help you connect with potential customers and showcase your product.

Online advertising: Paid search, display advertising and social media advertising can be effective ways to reach MSPs online.

Content marketing: Creating valuable content such as blog posts, whitepapers, webinars, and videos that address the specific challenges and interests of MSPs can help establish your brand as a thought leader and build trust with your target audience.

Partner program: Consider partnering with MSPs as part of a joint marketing program to promote your product and reach a larger audience.

Referral marketing: Encourage existing customers to refer other MSPs to your product. Offer incentives for successful referrals and make the process as simple and straightforward as possible.

Direct outreach: Personalized outreach can be an effective way to build relationships and connect with MSPs. This can be done through email, phone or even face-to-face meetings.

Product demonstrations: Offer product demonstrations to MSPs to help them understand the value of your product and how it can help solve their problems.

It's important to keep in mind that the most effective marketing strategy will depend on your target audience, the specific MSPs you're trying to reach and the type of product you're offering. A combination of these methods may be the most effective way to reach and engage with MSPs.

I wouldn't trust an IT person if they haven't heard of OZBargain or don't know scotty's secret handshake.

I own a small MSP. Best way to go about selling me a product is to reach out to our Sales teams. Don't send an email to the Helpdesk or call them. Find the sales email on an MSP's web address and send it through. If Sales are impressed and we don't have a deal set up with a similar product, we will reach out to you at that point.

Don't send an email to the Helpdesk or call them.

Like the Ingram Micro call centre guys always calling to speak to the owner about something "urgent". Always a marketing call.

    • yeah, I suppose you may be right. I will give some a go and see how they respond.
I just don't like getting those phone calls myself
