Bonus 1% Cashback on Gift Cards When Paying with Cashback Balance @ ShopBack via App (Activation Required)

271

It shouldn't need to be said, but this isn't for Westpac cardholders only. The whole point is that you're paying with cashback balance instead of a debit/credit card.

How to play

  • Make any transactions at ShopBack Gift Cards using your Cashback balance (min. $1 Cashback per transaction) to receive an additional 1% bonus Cashback
  • 1% bonus Cashback only applies to amounts paid for with your Cashback balance
  • For example: if you're spending $200 but you're paying $150 with your Cashback balance & $50 with your debit/credit card, you'll earn 1% bonus Cashback on the $150 component
  • Daily Cashback spend limits apply (up to $300 across Gift Card/Voucher purchases and bank/PayPal withdrawals)
  • 1% bonus applies to all eligible transactions made after opting into this challenge up until the end of the promotional period
  • 1% bonuses will not appear in your account instantly - these are subject to review and will be added to your ShopBack account within 2 weeks of every eligible transaction you make

Terms and conditions

Receive 1% bonus Cashback from ShopBack on all transactions made at ShopBack Gift Cards using your Cashback balance (minimum $1 Cashback balance must be used per transaction) between 13th February 2023 12.00am AEDT and 26th February 2023 11.59pm AEDT (unless the offer is modified, extended or terminated prior).
1% bonus Cashback only applies to amounts paid for with your Cashback balance. For example if you make a $200 purchase where you're paying $150 with your Cashback balance and $50 with your debit/credit card, you'll only earn 1% bonus Cashback on the $150 Cashback payment.
Daily Cashback spend limits apply (up to $300 across Gift Card/Voucher purchases and bank/PayPal withdrawals).
You will need to ensure you opt-in to the challenge and only purchases made after you ‘Start’ this challenge will qualify for the bonus Cashback.
Vouchers from ShopBack In-Store are excluded from this offer.
The 1% bonus Cashback is in addition to the regular Cashback you’ll receive for buying any Gift Card/Voucher via the ShopBack app.
1% bonuses will be added to your ShopBack account within 2 weeks of making any eligible transactions.
Cashback will be forfeited if any fraudulent activity is detected (or there is reasonable suspicion of such activity) on, or arising out of, your ShopBack account, or if your orders are cancelled.

Wow something for Non Westpac users!

    • Westpac people are a crusty bunch

  • Be careful of voiding any Westpac bonuses

  • +1

Comes with string attached I guess. Obviously they are trying to encourage you to keep your cashback monies with SB, rather than withdrawing. It helps with their cashflow management and is also a risk for you if something goes wrong with SB in the future.

    • +1

I think the main reason is because it saves them on card processing costs by drawing from your balance instead of charging your card

      • Hmmmm, I think it might be a little of both actually.

  • -3

Why bother posting an extra 1% off deal? 🤦‍♂️

    • +4

In case people want to use it?

      • -1

Only if 1% actually made any difference for people to want to switch to Westpac card 🤷‍♂️

        • +1

Read the post before you reply, it's not for Westpac users only. If it was for Westpac users only, you would need to pay with a Westpac card, but the whole point is that you're paying with cashback balance instead of a card.

@dm02: Gotcha! Noted. Still pointless ~1% deal.
However, not many will care for such a tiny benefit.

            • @thousandsuns: Respectfully, if you think people on here don't jump at a 1% discount, you're sorely mistaken

              • -1

@dm02: That's what i find vastly weird. Taking bargain hunting to cheapskate level. What am I to say, a win is a win, I guess? 🤷‍♂️
I'm not criticising you but SB for their 1% stupid deals which are a joke.

          RTFM 🤦🏻‍♂️

Any other Non Westpac customers really dropped usage with Shopback since all those Westpac only deals and Flap all for regulars
    Or just me.

Ill take a point less at Cashrewards - look at Cheddar and any other option now

    • I tried to apply for the Flex MasterCard and got declined. Opening a bank account for it is pointless. I don't do $2k deposit.

      • If you feel that, I guess don't participate?

        • I applied in Dec. I think without a bank account, the application is more likely to be declined.

          • +1

@Neoika: It's not hard to get a savings account and just set up a recurring transfer of $2k back and forth.

            • -1

@thousandsuns: Not for people already having many accounts.

              • +1

@Neoika: Either you jump through the hoops or just ignore Westpac SB offers all up. Your choice 🤷‍♂️
