PSA - ALDI No Longer Doing Mailbox Drops!

Today I arrived home from my highly enlightening exciting job working for Gerry (Yes! I hear the Booing, Rock/Egg throwing now).

One of my highlights every Monday or Tuesday is to see that the lovely Lady has dropped off our collection of pamphlets. Most go in the bin, but the one thing we enjoy is reading the Aldi brochure, to see what interesting buys are there.

Much to my disappointment, despite looking desperatly 3 times, there was no Aldi brochure, however I then discovered a 1 page flyer.

Aldi has followed Gerrys example(Yes again! I hear the Booing, Rock/Egg throwing now etc)., of no longer distributing catalogues via Letterbox drops.

So, fellow Ozbers, will this affect you?

      We used to, and today we received this flyer. Maybe stores near our area are not performing well, so they have cut distribution back. Our nearest store in the same suburbs is in a Big shopping centre that, also has Colesworth, and is a pain in the butt. Even worse is finding an Aldi Trolley bay that is not overflowing with trolleys from Ignorant Colesworth shoppers that are too Stupid/Ignorant/Lazy/Inconsiderate to put it in the bay next to it. Fortunatly we have a Foxpop now, to save wasting a token on a trolley.
      The other store nearby, is hard to get a park, but different postcode. It's by itself, but so much more convenient then going to another nearby Shopping centre that has colesworth.

    we moved to our current residence 11 years ago, no junk mail since then. have not missed it.
    do you visit lasoo? although the range has diminished of late
    .

    I normally check the app for the weekly specials so no big deal to me personally.

    Wondering if this stems from financial pressure or corporate social responsibility (CSR).

    ALDI reminds me of Triple M

    First couple of years, they were cutting edge, and didn't care what others did

    Quickly got some decent market share, and went from nowhere to somewhere on the podium within 5 or so years

    In the 2nd decade, as they couldn't crack #1, they simply got lazy and started to wander onto the main road where all the others gravitated towards

    And now, they put the same crap on high rotation

      It could be worse, you could live on the central coast, or Newcastle.

    We used to use them to line our compost bins no idea why but yeah that's the real only use they got in our household.

    I forgot what else I used to use them for but nowadays they just go straight to recycle.
