Can I Bring 'liquids' into Australia?

Hello
I'm travelling back from Dubai and wish to bring 15-20 bottles of custom made perfume

I'm flying Cebu Pacific from Dubai-Manila-Sydney

I'm not sure from a customs/border perspective or from an airline perspective if I can bring liquids like this into Aus. I couldn't find any info online.

Seems like I can't travel OUT of the country with anything more than 100ml of any liquid e.g toothpaste, deodorant etc….but not sure about coming IN to the country

Anyone seem to have any idea on this?

Thanks

There's no liquid limit to checked luggage within your weight limit but you may need a good explanation on how they aren't being imported for sale here and therefore do not need to pay taxes etc.

Australia restricts the quantity of liquids, aerosols, gels and certain powders you can carry onboard international flights only. These restrictions do not apply to your checked-in baggage.

Do you have an odour problem?

You will need to declare them and likely pay duty to bring them in.

why do you need that many bottles of perfume I mean 15 - 20 bottle seems excessive tf

    • Maybe one of the perfume bottles is a gift for you?

Don't you know I only wear private blend, custom and no name brand is out of the question.

        • No gift for you then

Customs will deem them a 'commercial' quantity and they'll need to be declared and likely duty paid.

  • I'm a tight arse.
And it's just cheaper there than here. Plus half of them are gifts for fam and friends

It is celebrated to be a TA here.
Pack them in the checked baggage. Make sure that these are in travel safe packs. You wouldn't be allowed to even put them in checked bags if these are not secure, because alcohol in the perfume may escape under pressure and would be a fire hazard. Particularly 15-20 bottles will not escape checked baggage screening.
On arrival, declare them and have the invoice or purchase evidence handy. The border officers may be generous and not charge any duty, especially if they were not to expensive to buy.
Please come back and post your experience so we all know better for next time anyone is going to Dubai.

  • People do bring in litres of liquid - oils, alcohol, etc without the need for paying duty. From memory, you need to declare if you bring in more that 2.25L of alcohol. Declare them anyways. If you have multiple checked in bags, try to split the bottles into different bags.
