2. If you have discounted JB HI-FI gift cards from previous deals (10% off Ultimate gift cards, or even 15% off Ultimate gift cards during Christmas) price match it and then purchase.

          I have never had JB match a price with free delivery across multiple stores. Regardless of the delivery they always charge a shipping fee on top of the price match.

    If you have an American Express credit card you could get $100 back from Amex as their member rewards when you spend more than $500 on the Sony website. You could price match it with this on the Sony website. that’s what I did.

        Because they're not moving, Sony will be forced to drop prices again later this year. They've been doing quite a few cost reductions on the hardware, so no reason why prices should be up now.

          Calm down, they are only doing it here in Australia, as an example, when the Switch OLED released in October 2021, there were plenty of retailers here selling it for less than RRP.

          Yes they will drop prices as part of the product life cycle. The normal progression has been disrupted by chip shortages and a damaging pandemic that interrupted the supply/component chain. Retailers will rarely discount a product when they can't acquire enough stock. I use new vehicles as an example, 9 month wait right there, that has also added 20-30% resale value on used cars. Later through this year, normal programming will resume and discounts will return from retailers first, then officially from Sony.

      From my calculations, the suggestion number 1 from my description. $808 - $100 ( cashback) = $708.
      Unless you have 15% discounted gift cards from previous deal during Christmas that will drop the price around $687.

    Will probably buy one, when a good deal + further discounts/codes lets me get it for $630 to $650.

    Or $700 including 2 controllers.

      I think this is the way. I sold my original console for a $300 profit after I'd finished Ratchet & Clank and now I'm just waiting for the price to come down before I get the console again.
