Thanks OP, did you see any good offers for ladies watches at all?

    • All the ones i posted are 40mm or under. So it depends how small you want to go. Seikos are all unisex on the Shiels website.

If you want under 30mm, Shiels do have a women's section I checked the one that I think is the least tacky but it's $1 less at Watch Depot and you can't get the $20 off first purchase unless you add something that is at least $12

      • Thankyou

        • What type of watch are you after? And how big?

          • @rosebank: Probably eco-drive to replace one that has stopped working. Not sure about size, but maybe 30mm or so, nothing too small.

@17833: I've replaced an old model Seiko solar's battery for $40. Do you want to keep your old one or want a new one.

This one is pretty cool. The case and bracelet looks like Sinn's tegimented watches like my 856 UTC with bracelet. The design of the bracelet looks similar too. The dial is unique, not mother of pearl but like rainbow clouds. I dig it.

              • +1

@rosebank: Randomly butting in, I also really like that non-Mother-of-Pearl colour.

Also, I REALLY like the concept of that 856 UTC.

                • @WasBargain: Yeah I really like the clean rainbow dial. If they made a 38mm+ version I'd buy it instantly.

I love my 856 UTC. The colour is almost like a matte champagne under certain lighting, and the tegiment tech is legit. It used to be my beater watch and I had to replace the sapphire crystal while the case and bracelet only have tiny scratches. The new crystal aready has a scratch on the AR coating; the blue tint is cool but not worth it for a proper tool watch. It's anti magnetic, has an extension clasp bracelet like a diver to wear over jackets, and there's a small indicator window on the side that turns blue if there's moisture in the case. Tegiment is so good. check out the scratches on the clasp which has the most wear on a watch - only a few tiny scratches and the rest of the bracelet and case don't have any discernible wear. And I thrashed that watch.

I currentlly only have 3 Sinns: the 856 UTC, 356 sa gr which is discontinued; I think the current 356 sa has an ugly dial with the big FLIEGER text, yes we know it's a pilots watch, whereas mine has a power reserve indicator and no giant FLIEGER text. The U1 is a proper 1000m diver made of U-boat stell and tegimented case. I have the rubber strap on now and also have the tegiment bracelet, but I think it looks cooler on rubber. The others are considerably more expensive than the 856, but the 856 is the best Sinn I've owned. I've bought and sold a few but always keep these 3. Sorry for long reply but I'm a huge Sinn fanboy.

                  • @rosebank: Not at all, I enjoyed the reply.

Just reading passionate responses on things people know stuff about.. 😅

I'm just not a big fan of the font but I'm assuming it's a bit oldschool to replicate the flight instruments on aircraft.

                    I also didn't realise it was a 2.5k, at minimum, watch.. 😅

But you get what you pay for! It looks class and seems to be heavily reliable.

I really like idea of German u-boat steel.. 😅 I heard on Rogan a few days ago that they scavenge sunken planes to get steel that hasn't seen cesium. I can't remember for what purpose they need this steel though. Is this a similar idea..? 😅 Or just hella sick recycling marketting?

NH7520-56A Classic simple design. Can’t go wrong.

  • These look like nice "standard" looking watches if you want to blend in.

    • The Seiko open heart two tone is pretty fancy

      • Yeah I would dislike that one just equally if it was gold instead of rose gold. I find even the littlest bit of that to be gaudy.
e.g. I didn't like the look of this either with tiny bits of gold https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/756616

And as I have mentioned before, the G-shock MT-G/MR-G range has the worst offenders lol.

        • +1

I love wearing cheap gold watches. I have a couple of rose gold seikos, but they're more like bronze

          • @rosebank: Entirely gold case + band looks better IMO. I just don't like gold highlights etc.

Ignore the circles. the "rose gold" Seikos are in the last 2 pics

I got the yellow citizen from @WatchNerd's deal today and the dial is more gold than yellow, also pretty sparkly, I like it.

              • +1

@rosebank: Yeah those Seiko's look much better than the open heart two tone.

              • +1

@rosebank: I love that you like the yellow dial citizen. One day Jimothy, one day 🥲

@Scrooge McDeal: That is 3 of my 8, but really 11 because 3 are double stacked like the Seiko one. Actually, 12 boxes because the last pic with all the solars holds 24.

I have a lot more whisky. Watches are just my side-chick.

@rosebank: I will start believing what you were saying about your yacht. Looks like you might have one for real. 😜

              • @rosebank: I'd sell all those and get a single Grand Seiko

                • +1

@Ryanek: Already have a Snowflake. I buy watches for fun

@rosebank: Nice collection. Show the tissots you hauled from DJ!

                • @BuyNowThinkLater: They're staying in the boxes beacuse I'm going to give them away, there are a few significant birrhdays coming up. They'll be like, "omg thanks best pressie ever!" While I'm thinking, "lol this shit cost me $250."

I only like the Visodate and PRX

  • @blacksmithnpc Check out my Notilus mod to go with my Royal Broke. I went with red to try somethng different, but will prob change it to all black

  • Sapphire glass for the citizen and Sapphire crystal for the Seiko. Are they the same thing?

I assume Seiko SUR339P runs on battery?

    Thanks.

    • +1

Yeah probably. The Seiko is a quartz so it runs on battery. The Citizen is an automatic

  • There are probably more deals at Watch Depot, I didn't check the sale section.

Call me an idiot, but for the life of me I couldn't find a specific sale section on their website?
